1960 Dodge D100/D200 Pickup
NO RESERVE! Very cool old Dodge 1/2 ton pickup. I usually buy and sell old farm trucks that come from here in Kansas, along the way I also end up with a car or pickup from time to time,- this is one such case
First of all, this came from a local farm sale, where the gentleman who had owned it for 40 years had passed away, and along the way, the title got lost, so this pickup will be sold with a notarized state of Kansas bill of sale. We will be happy to help with any needed paperwork, within reason, for your state - but please check with your state or country, as they differ.
According to the conversations I had at the auction, this was an everyday driver until (and I'm guessing by the smell of the old gas I drained out of the tank,) about 10 to 15 years ago. This has a hydraulic clutch, and the master cylinder went out. It got parked to repair, and simply never got fixed. So, as I said, after I got the truck home, I drained the old gas, and put in some fresh, we put in an new battery, and primed up the fuel system. The old truck started right up, and sounds great. It didn't even smoke after sitting all those years. It revs up quickly and idles smooth - amazing. I'm unable to drive the truck, much more than in the yard, due to the clutch master cylinder. If you fill it with fluid, you can get the clutch to partially disengage, but it leaks pretty bad. The clutch itself seems ok.
If you are a dodge guy, you know this should have the old poly wide block V-8, but was changed out at some point for a later model 318 and 4 speed. It appears to be an automotive 4 speed, as the 1st gear isn't "granny low". He did modify the frame slightly on each side, left side for slave cylinder, right side for exhaust, it was reinforced, however, after being notched. The front axle is also bent back in the middle. I was told he had hit either a short tree stump or short post while working some cattle. It only hit the axle, and was driven for years after this, but you might want to either straighten or replace the front axle.
As far as the body goes, it is pretty straight and clean, and has a really great look. It appears the truck was originally yellow, and was painted white and red later on. Someone put on D200 emblems, but it is a 1/2 ton. There are a couple of rust spots that were painted over, but not many. Most notably the upper inside of front fenders, where hood closed, maybe half dollar size. The cab entry steps are in great shape, and the floorboards are solid. The glass is all in tact, but does have some cracks.
This is a really very hard truck to describe, it's truly an eye catching pickup that needs little to be a driver, it does have some issues to iron out however.
