1966 Dodge Monaco 500, I am the third owner. 383 big block .030 over, 10:1 flat top forged pistons, forged crank, BALANCED (local machine shop), Edelbrock Performer intake and 750 cfm 4 bbl, Performer RPM cam and lifters, Cloyes timing chain, MSD ignition, aftermarket gear reduction starter, ceramic headers, custom exhaust (Flowmasters and custom tip side pipes), 8 3/4 Sure-grip (posi-traction)differential with 3.23 gears. The engine was rebuilt in 2001. Transmission is a 727 Torqueflite. Needs body work and transmission work. Car starts and runs amazing, but due to the transmission, transportation of vehicle should be arranged. Interior will also need to be redone. I have all the interior parts, extra doors and hood, many, manyother spare parts. This was originally a 2 bbl car, and I have the original intake and carburetor (Bendix-Stromberg) if a factory restoration was desired. Wiring is still in place if you wanted to go back to the original points distributor, but the alternator and voltage regulatorhave been upgraded (60 amp dual field, original was 42 single, electronic ignition regulator) for the MSD so you could also use a factory electronic ignition as well. Car has Cragar SS rims now, plus two extra, and I do have the original wheels (in very poor condition) and the original hubcaps. The only parts missing for a complete stock restoration are the A/C components. The car was dealer air and I do not have the under dash A/C unit. For those not interested in restoration, as the car sits, she ran high 14's in the quarter. Very little would need to be done to make it a nice 12-13 second bracket car, or faster if you used NOS, engine should be able to handle 100-150 shot easy. Yes, it has seen some track time, total of six passes, but in general has been my daily/recreational driver over the years. Please do not inquire as to parting out, and buyer must arrange transportation. Feel free to ask any questions, I have owned this car for 22 years. She really is a unique beast. If you're looking for something different, this is it my friends. In all honesty, rebuild the transmission and you can just enjoy the ride and turn heads. I used to take her to some car shows, never as an entry, but she always got looks. I will definitely miss this car but with my family, I find less and less time to stay focused on it. Thanks for looking.
