Selling survivor66 Dodge Charger 383 big block, 27 auto, 3/4 posi rear end, ower steering, ower brakes, ptional front sway bar, etallic red interior, hite exterior. All numbers matching, riginal paint. Car has convenience Charger pkg 354 with tinted windows, 6" hemi radiator, rivers remote door mirror, ay/night mirror, way flashers, runk and hood lights, M radio, ower steering, -brake warning light. This car has every option other than AC. The 383 was the largest engine offered in 66 other than the special order 426 hemi. This car has 22K original miles and is unmodified in any way. It is very complete. I have letters from the 2nd and 3rd owners. They are father and son in-law. Car was sold new in the southern California desert community of Acton, ear Palm Dale and lived its life in the desert. I dragged her home from that location. I have a lead on the original owner whom I was told still lives in Acton. The car was a Saturday night street racer until the engine let go in the early 80's. Its been stored ever since. The limited wear on various parts including the cylinders supports all claims. Block bore is standard with no ridge to speak of. The red metallic interior is epic! I will discuss it near the bottom. This car is essentially rust free. While it sat outside for the a few years before I purchased it rust developed around the rear window bottom molding retainer clip screws. Each one rusted through as the guy on the production line that day didn't apply sealer around the clips. On my other charger they did and there was no rust in the same spot. Typical Dodge. I professionally replaced this small panel just below the back window, bove the deck lid. The rear window is loose. I removed it to make the repair and left it out for painting the body. The stuff you see in the pics is duc tape residue. I will re-tape for shipping. I just wanted you to see the quality of the metal under the tape. No rust...anywhere. The front windshield is showing similar rust spots coming from under the bottom trim. I expect this panel will need repair. That is the only rust on this car. No rot anywhere. Look at the pics. Ask for more. The trunk pan is beautiful as are the floors and rockers and quarters. All have original paint. The car has no dents other than door dings. None. The rear bumper needs to be replaced. Look at the pics carefully, here is NO body damage behind the bumper. The taillight lens and housing were not damaged although the lens is age cracked like all of them. I have the trunk lock mechanism as well as the glove box lock. I do NOT have keys for this car hence I pulled this parts so I could open/close as needed.
Car is complete including all the hard to find parts other than the top half of the engine. Who cares....383 parts are a dime a dozen. You will need an intake, eads, istro, arb and exhaust. The car comes with a ton of spars including 2 correct power steering pumps with hoses and brackets, rum, indshield wiper motor, inges, eat belts among many other parts. Look at pics. The PO had installed a stereo in the glove box. This is much better than cutting the dash bezel to fit...so you will need a cardboard glove box. They had removed some of the heater ducting to fit the radio. The are in the spare parts box in pics.
The interior is absolutely gorgeous. It is in excellent shape. It only needs new carpeting as the old is just falling apart from age. I just last month had Bob Abney, ho was the Harrah's auto museum in Reno NV upholstery man for 30 years, edo the front seats. They both had upper outside corner rot from the desert sun coming in the side window. The dash (1 crack in center) and door panel tops were covered and the rear seats folded down with blankets on them so they are very nice...but the front seat corners were exposed. So, hey got a hand stitched $1500 new covers and foam, ops and bottoms. These are not pre-made kits. Bob hand made these. It took 40 hours. The red metallic vinyl was $270 by itself. They are perfect and beautiful. The rest of the interior is near perfect. I don't think the back seats were ever sat in. The center console latch and light are there. The fold down rear arm rest needs new pivot screws. Its all in super shape. Headliner, pper moldings, un visors, ay night mirror all super. The side panels and door panels are very very nice. There are speaker holes cut into the bottom of the door panels. They did it in the best possible spot. You can pull the speakers, nd just replace the carpet strip and you will not know. They didn't damage the unique aluminum or chrome parts. The drivers arm rest needs to be replaced. The windows go up and down well. they need some lube but are solid with good gears. The gauges have the early rare "crater and spike" design, hanged shortly after due to DOT thinking the spikes were dangerous. Some of the chrome on the plastic dash parts is fading....they all do this unfortunately. The dash is unmolested. All under dash wiring and components like headlamp relays are intact. Heater box, an, ore, egulator unmolested.
