1926 Dodge Brothers Special 5 PassengerSedan
Founded as the Dodge Brothers Company by brothers Horace and John Dodge in 1900, odge was originally a supplier of parts for Detroit based automakers. They began building complete vehicles in 1915 predating the founding of the Chrysler Corporation. The Dodge brother both died suddenly in 1920 and the company was sold to Dillon, ead & Co. in 1925 before being sold to Chrysler in 1928. Dodge Brothers cars were practical, o nonsense vehicles known for their ruggedness and reliability. The 116 series sold from 1923-1926 was essentially a continuation of the original 4 cylinder Model 30 that made the company famous but with a few improvements. New features for 1926 included the automatic windshield wipers, ift open rear windows, owl vents and a one piece windshield. This particular example is optioned with smooth riding wood wheels, ouble bar bumpers and a nickel plated radiator shell. This vehicle was restored to new approximately 25 years and the restoration has held up quite well. The odometer was reset during the restoration and currently shows 1,815 miles. It is completely road worthy and everything is in 100% working order except for the windshield wipers. The parts are all present and the motor is not frozen so with a little work they should be easily fixable. The only other concerns are that there is some sort of cap missing from the center of the steering wheel and there is a split seem on the front seat. We rate this as an above average vehicle but have priced it as a below average vehicle for a quick sale.
