Up for your consideration is my 1927 Dodge Brothers 124 Series Coupe. This car started life as a barn find in Indiana that was complete, an, nd drove. I includedtwo photos before restoration in the photo gallery.I sent her away in October of 2012 just to have some mechanical things fixed to make her safe for driving and it snowballed into a full restoration that took 2-1/2 years. Every part on this car was removed and repainted. Almost every part was repaired or rebuilt (more on that later). She is a beautiful example of this model.
This car is 100% original. All body parts, anels, nd fenders are all rust free original examples. There are no reproduction body parts in this car. The car had one small area of rust in the left rear. This area was about 1 inch by 10 inches and I assure you that it was fixed correctly and completely (photo documented). Other than that, here was no other rust in this car. She is not full of filler. The frame was blasted and coated. The springs were re-sprung. All spring hangers were inspected and repaired. I could go on, ut it's easier to say that everything was done. There is 100% photo documentation of the full restoration. In addition to the photos, ll receipts are available. If you include the original purchase price of the car, have almost $50K in the total project.
Here's what was not rebuilt on this car: the transmission and rear differential. They were removed from the car, ompletely degreased and cleaned, nd repainted. During this process they were inspected and found to be in excellent condition. The thinking was that we could do more harm rebuilding something that was in such great shape, o we decided to leave them alone. The wiper motor and speedometer were not replaced, nly because I haven't found suitable replacements. The front bumper, ear bumper, nd headlight rings were not plated. I felt it was better to put this money into finishing the car. Other than these four things, he car is complete and perfect. She's the best example that I've seen offered. She's won awards in every car show that she's attended. We love this old gal, ut it's time to look for another toy.
E-bay only allows me a few photos, ut I have many, any more. Also, hotos are available by looking at 250 Restorations and Customs. If you would like to see more photos, ust let me know and I will send what I can. Please don't be afraid to ask any questions. I'll do my best to answer them for you.
It kills me to have to say this, ut I need to from experience. When you bid, ou are bidding to buy. You are not bidding for a chance to inspect it and then decide whether or not you want it after the auction closes. Please ask all questions and/or arrange for an inspection prior to the close of the auction. Once the hammer drops, t's yours. I own this car free and clear. Title is in hand.
