Car description |

Good running and driving 1948 DeSoto Custom 2 door club coupe. This is a very solid car with a nice interior! Recently just completed a 250 mile round trip with no issues at all at 65 mph on the highway. Original 236 flathead was recently tuned up and the Fluid Drive transmission shifts and works properly.
The body is solid with no signs of rust. The floor pans are solid too. The glass is all intact with no missing or broken panels. The chrome appears to be original and in excellent condition. The grille is in very good condition too -- nice bright chrome with no peeling or pits.
Everything works on this car with the exception of the fuel gauge. The only part it needs to correctly work is a fuel tank sending unit which can be purchased here or through other vintage MOPAR parts dealers.
This would be a great car to finish restoration on or to just enjoy and drive it the way it is. It has great patina and might even shine with a good wax job! The interior needs little to nothing, the seats and door panels were reupholstered and in great shape with no rips or tears. The carpet does show a little bit of wear and fading but it's all there and perfectly useable.
I have this car for sale locally and I do reserve the right to end the auction early should I sell it locally. This is a no reserve auction so bid accordingly to win! A $500 non refundable deposit is due within 48 hrs of the auction close, the balance to be paid within 5 days. Once paid for, the car can be stored for up to 30 days or more to arrange for shipping. It's safe and secure where it is at. I can help and assist loading on a transport. Check or cashier's check is fine, the car and title will be held prior to release to insure funds have cleared. I'm happy to take more pictures or answer any questions here or you can reach me at 775 772 7504 for more information. Good luck and happy bidding!
