Car description |
---|
I bought this car over 10 years ago from a guy in California and it has only one little spot of rust on the passenger door area noted in photos.
Car was repainted by previous owner and it looks really good from 10' but up close it looks like they didn't spend a lot of time on surface prep.
The car runs and I was driving it before I had the carburetor rebuilt and it does run now but I do not have the throttle linkage hooked up because I am having trouble adjusting the carburetor.
I have many extra parts and any missing badging or missing chrome metal pieces from the car including the passenger side lower stainless strip that runs from front wheel well to rear wheel well. The stainless strip that is currently instaled is held in with some sheet metal screws but as I said, I have a excellent condition replacement .
The car has a steering wheel from what I believe to be a 1957 and it is in poor condition but I covered it and it works fine.
Car has original factory radio and I am including in the sale another factory year/model correct totally rebuilt radio/speaker system with-in auxiliary cord included to be routed through the glovebox or under the dash, I just never have put it in yet. The radio was professionally redone and all-new parts were put in by a man in Hutchison Kansas who is a real expert at reviving these old radios.
The car has 80,000 miles. I spent a lot of time and money on it about 8 years ago getting it to where my father could drive it in parades and he enjoyed it but it has been sitting for the last 3 years.
It need some TLC as the valve cover gaskets are leaking and the carburetor linkage would need to be slightly modified and re-installed and I did have to cut and plug the factory coolant hose that goes to the base of the carburetor but that can be easily plugged at the thermostat housing area.
I do have a lot of extra parts for the car and upon someone showing serious intereste I will go get them out of storage and unwrap them and take photos for the very serious buyer. I bought all the extra parts for my father as he wanted to go to swap meets and car shows and set up a small table and have a good time trading stories and parts with other car enthusiasts.
The car is being sold as-is, in current condition but as I said it can be started and the adjusted and then driven up on to any trailer that you would want to bring to do you repairs at your location.
If someone is really serious and wishes to contact me I can make a video of it starting up.
When we last had it running its smoked very little and the smoke that did come out was more black as I said the carburetor needed to be rebuilt but it does have white smoke coming out the exhaust now from just sitting for so long and I'm sure that regular running will clean all that out of the engine.
