Gorgeous 1981 DeLorean DMC-12...Some Reassembly Required!
Florida-purchased vehicle now residing in Arizona. Always garaged and covered. No scratches or dents to stainless steel body. Original leather seats and gull-wing doors in great condition.
A fine specimen of one of the automotive world's rarest, most legendary models. I bought this dream machine in 2017 and garaged it immediately in order to give it a tune-up and install official DMC (Houston) upgrades. Unfortunately, I was unable to complete the project due to health issues and I now have a DeLorean with PARTIALLY DISASSEMBLED ENGINE in storage, waiting for a new buyer. Luckily, the components that need to be put back in are fairly minor.
It pains me to sell my dream car, but my loss is your gain.
Attached photos accurately reflect vehicle condition, though please see photo of engine with intake manifold removed. INTAKE MANIFOLD, FUEL INJECTORS AND SHIFT GOVERNOR BOX ARE CURRENTLY REMOVED. I removed and cleaned everything, drained car of transmission fluid and oil and cleaned the undercarriage, and removed the battery for safe storage.
VEHICLE IS NOT IN GEAR, SO REAR WHEELS WILL NOT ROLL. WHEEL LIFT OR OTHER SHIPPING/TRANSPORT ACCOMMODATIONS REQUIRED.
Do to a shifting issue, I had DMC-Houston rebuild the automatic transmission governor. It just needs to be reinstalled along with the following upgrades, which are all NEW IN BOX:
All parts accounted for. These engines were fairly simplistic, so anyone with basic knowledge will be able to add the new parts, reinstall the intake manifold, etc. Doing so will add a few thousand dollars to vehicle's value.
Issues:
I'm being as honest as possible to ensure a smooth sale. Vehicle is being sold as-is, and once reassembled will drive as beautifully as it looks.
