Thank you for looking at my 1981 DeLorean. This car was one of the earlier DeLoreans because it has the hood with the gas cap built into it. This is a 6 cylinder / 4 speed that starts and runs well. I bought this car three and a half years ago and replacing almost everything that was 35 years old. Hopefully it can be around for another 35 years or longer. I had everything from underneath the car taken out.I had the whole frame sandblasted and recoated, new clutch and throwout bearing, starter and alternator, battery, complete braking system (including master cylinder), and replaced some of the plates underneath the vehicle because they were old and pitte, front end parts replaced . So now when you look underneath this car, you see a DeLorean just the way you'd like it to b, well cared for (and it has been). Also, the car had a complete tune-up, fuel distributor and many other parts that I can't even think to mention (I spent thousands of dollars on parts).
The four tires on the car were put on about 4 years ago, and they're still like brand new. This car is turn-key ready to drive. The body of the car has a beautiful luster, just the way you'd like to see one, not one that you'd have to sand and buff to get the luster this original one has. The stainless steel was never touched. The way you see it is the way I bought it, and also the interior is in really nice shape and so are all 4 wheels. We don't see any cracks or chips in any glass. This is just an exceptionally clean car and we have all paperwork for the car including owner's manual, pamphlets and more.
Please don't forget to check out all the pictures of the trunk and engine compartment. The only thing that I did not do to this car is charge the air conditioning because I do not have R12. Some people do to keep it original, or you can always convert it over. Both power window motors need to be replaced. I left a little something for the next buyer to do, and this way they can add his or her own flavor to this car to make it their own.
Everybody that stops in at my dealership that sees it just cannot believe the nice condition of the car. If you have the opportunity to stop and check it out or send a third party, we would really appreciate it. We definitely want the last highest bidder when the auction is over to know exactly what they're getting. I know it's hard to find a DeLorean locally where you live, because there's not that many of them around, let alone for sale. But over the next 7 days, you have the opportunity to check mine out any way you'd like and buy it for the price you'd like to pay, because the auction is no reserve.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL BIDDERS!On Jun-29-18 at 15:18:00 PDT, seller added the following information:
