Over the years I have owned quite a few classic sports cars and none has garnered the attention that I receive when I take this Z out for Sunday drives. I get thumbs up and compliments everywhere I go. It has been a pleasure owning, njoying and getting her road worthy and I will describe/list the work I have done.I would like to start off by saying that this car is fully documented, aintenance history dating back to the original owner will be included along with the original dealer invoice, oth sets of keys, anuals, nd extras that I have accumulated. The Z was purchased new in 1982 from Carbone Pontiac Plaza in Syracuse NY. It is the rare slicktop model that I find more desirable than the t-top version that was prone to leaks and rattles. The leather and suede seats were special order embossed or as some people say monogrammed on the suede reading 'datsun 280 ZX'. The paint was also Datsun special order orange and brown two tone. Upon delivery, he owners had the undercarriage completely rust-shield sprayed by Centurion and the certificate of that lifetime warranty is also included. The Z remained a garage kept vehicle in Syracuse NY until I purchased her last year and continues to be kept indoors.Upon purchase, had all fluids flushed. Next was a complete NGK tune up and new Firestone tires. Please note that I also have a full size rim that goes with the car along with the factory spare. Next, replaced the clutch and flywheel with the OEM Exedy/Daiken parts. From not being driven much, he needed a new battery and because of low voltage readings I also decided to install a new Hitachi Alternator. Receipts for everything I have done will be included.Everything under the hood is original and unmolested. Everything works as it should and there are no funny noises or rattles when driving this car on the freeway. The engine is very responsive and the 5-speed trans shifts on a dime. This is a very very tight car and holds the road well. Straight as an arrow. The AC system is ICE cold. Most are surprised at how well it works along with the cruise control that also works as it should.Sometime in the early 2000's the previous owner decided to swap out the original radio for an Alpine CD player and also installed 2 pioneer speakers in the rear storage compartments as seen in the pic. Sometime in 2006 or so, he car was completely repainted at a cost of over $7k dollars. This is by no means a showroom Z. There are a few chips here and there but nothing that takes away from the beauty of the car. If you look at the dash pics, here is a hairline crack near the cluster and the passenger side of the dash by the speaker is also a crack. There are no surprises here and I would be more than happy to answer your questions via eBay or call me directly at (201) 515-2476.There are not many 280's out there. Here in the Northeast, ust free examples are hard to find and a rare slicktop is even more difficult to get your hands on. I am willing to listen to offers from serious buyers who call me and I am a reasonable person as far as my price goes. There is no doubt in my mind that this car will make a cross country trip anywhere so if you would like to fly in and drive it home, EWR) Newark International Airport is closest and with proper arrangements I can pick you up there. Should you wish to have a carrier transport it home, hose arrangements would have to be made on your own but I will work with the company tofacilitatepickup.Thank you for looking at my car and feel free to contact/call me with any questions you may have.
