1968 Ford F250 4 x 4 Highboy Custom Cab is being offered. This truck is in UNRESTORED condition so. as you would expect for a 46 year old truck. needs TLC. With that being said this truck has held up very well as you can tell from the photos. The truck has Alaska historic plates but was never in Alaska. I purchased it from a CA resident who owned property in Alaska and decided to register it there instead of CA. He purchased the truck from an Oregon rancher where the truck spent most of it's life. Main pros and cons: Pro's:- All original sheet metal. Good lines. doors open and close with ease. Surface rust only - no areas of any rust through. Body is very solid. - Very solid 360 Motor. Plenty of power. Recent compression test shows readings of 130-150-140-150-160-150-140-140. Recent tune up included replacing points. condenser cap and rotor. Carb base gasket was replaced. - The truck has 4 speed manual with granny gear. The truck shifts well. - All gauges and lights work. Horn works. radio works. Winch motor works. - Truck starts easy. runs strong. shifts well and brakes good. Brand new heavy duty shocks were installed. The truck could be used as is as great ranch truck or errand truck to the local hardware store. Cons:- Truck is UNRESTORED so there are many little things that may need attention based on your expected usage of the truck. - A look through the engine bay reveals some sealant on the intake manifold. Although no large leaks are noticed under the truck. I would venture the truck could use new gaskets all around. - Original bench seat is torn and could use replacement or a cover. - Front tires have good tread depth but rears have limited life left in them. - A few dents and dings here and there. As mentioned before the passenger window needs a spring or something as it works its way down under normal driving. In summary. this is a nice truck that could be enjoyed just the way it is if your desire is for a ranch truck or something to run errands with occasionally. The truck is a beast and runs very strong. I have tried to outline many of the defects - I'm sure if the truck is dissected you could find many more things wrong with the truck. I have tried to price the truck fairly given the unrestored condition but taking into account all of the strong points the truck has. If you have any specific questions I haven't addressed please email me and I will do my best to answer. I am a licensed dealer in CA do if the high bidder is from CA. please expect to pay Sales Tax and Registration Fees in addition to the high bid amount. The truck comes with a clear Alaska Title.
