1967 Datsun 1600 Roadster, Convertible, Numbers Matching

Running. driving. umbers matching 1967 1600 Roadster for sale The body is solid. no rust holes in the floor. trunk. rockers. doors. or wheel wells. If the pictures don't convince you. please email me for more detailed shots. the doors are solid. close correctly. and you will have a great start on a nice car if you choose to do a frame off restoration. or with just a little work. can have a good dependable driver with a few weekends of small fixes. I tried to list all the faults first. and included pictures of the problem areas so that you will know what you are getting. Now for all the good. The previous owner sold this car thinking he had a blown head gasket. I took the head off. had it checked. and it was perfect. He had installed the high performance head stud kit (2285 from Datsun Parts) but gave up on the roadster when he couldn't set the SU carbs. While the heads were off. I cleaned the motor. repainted the block. and added a new clutch from Auto Zone. The clutch and brakes were bled. and could use a little more attention. Brakes don't stop near as good as i like. and the car shifts smooth through all gears. but will grind some on down shifting. Oil pressure reads 50 to 55 lbs and the engine pulls strong. The SU carbs aren't tuned perfectly but the roadster runs really good. I installed a new ceramic coated header. and flex connector. and had new exhaust run to a bugle chrome tip at the rear. The exhaust note isn't too loud but people do hear you get on it. The radiator was boiled out and checked. and new top and bottom hoses were added. long with new thermostat and radiator cap. The roadster was driven around town this past Saturday and never missed a beat. but did get a few thumbs up. The air filter element is a K & N filter which is new. This can be pulled out. cleaned. and re installed. I have a Five speed tranny and five speed shifter plate to go with the car. The tranny is from a 1982 Datsun Diesel pickup. and it will bolt direct to the engine with no mods. The shifter falls short of original shifter hole in the tunnel. but the new SS five speed shift plate will hide that when installed. The mounts will have to be modified for the tranny to bolt to the frame. but I have been told that the drive shaft will fit the tranny. and the first four gears are very close to the original tranny in the car. but the fifth gear is great for cruising the interstate or highway. The wheels are Shelby Vipers. and the rubber is decent and have less than a thousand miles on them. Seats are good. with no tears. but the carpet and vinyl should be redone. A little spray adhesive might take care of the vinyl trim if you didn't want to re do the interior. I have a good front bumper but never sourced the bumper mounts. Clear title in hand. and a $500 deposit with in 24 hours of auction close required with balance due two weeks after auction. I can store the car in my garage for two months to allow time to line up car hauler. or make arrangements to come pick it up in person. Reserve will not be disclosed. so please don't ask.
