Car description |
---|
Rescued from a farm in the Flint Hills of Kansas just before CottonBelt R.R. to could scrape it is this 1964 Datsun 3-seat Roadster Project or Parts Car. Definitely not for the squeamish, some one with no welding/sheet metal skills or patience and a deep pocket or two.
After being rendered safe of all wildlife by a 25lbs Main Coon all their living quarters and bugs were removed to reveal a three seat roadster with solid floors and trunk, frame, and body to frame supports. Rocker and rear quarters are another story, but typical of almost any Datsun Roadster this one just has more of it - rust. However true this is the more desirable 3 seat roadster with the low windshield and best looking dash and center radio console of any roadster model. If you are looking to restore an early Datsun then the '63 and '64 Roadster is the one you want. This one is a '64, note the first digit of the serial number, a 4, though titled a 1965. It could have been a non-selling '64 with a new data plate from Nissan USA or just a late production '64 but titled a '65 due to transoceanic shipping time.
Yes, the pictures reveal quite a few issues with no engine, transmission, front/back bumpers, bullet ridden windshield, rusty rocker/rear quarters and smashed gauges. However, I have cleaned out several parts crates of '67 roadster parts to make this as complete as I can. See pics or ask for more, but along with this roadster are the following extra parts -
Fuel tank and straps ('68)Cowl vent screenLWS top/bottom frame pieces, LWS L/R frame pillars, and center supportSway BarFront suspension rebounds/stopsL/R quarter window framesL/R quarter window glass with hinge - sorry do not have quarter window locking mechanismRadiatorExtra hoodWiring harnessFront/Rear shocks still fairly newFront Disc calipers1 or 2 extra brake drums from a '65 410 sedan - they are the same.L/R window regulatorsL/R door mechanismR/L door glass - though one is not OE/Nippon Safety glassOuter Door lock(s)L/R door hinge setsL/R door striker platesL/R seats with seat rails from '67 roadsterand maybe a few more items I have forgotten, but can send pics of all
Roadster comes with a clean/clear Kansas Title for an antique vehicle - title is NOT a salvage or rebuilder title and there is no lien.
If car does not sale it will be scraped and parted out - ever so slowly. Again this is the more desirable three seater and why I would like to sell it as a complete car.
If you have questions or would like more pics please ask. Shipping is the responsibility of the winner, though I can and will help load it. A $250 deposit is due within 3-working days upon the completion of the auction. Additional details for remainder of balance sent upon completion of auction. Winner has no more than 3 weeks to remove/pick up vehicle - will work with you, but not holding it for an extended amount of time. Tracking car is a non-runner and shippers do not like to pick up these type of cars.
