Up for sale is my 1971 Datsun 510 Sedan. It has dual SU carburetors with a manual choke. The engine runs good and was gone thru about 25,000 miles ago and the automatic transmission has also been rebuilt about 15,000 miles ago (AAMCO transmissions). . This car DOES run and drive. The reason I'm selling it is simply because I've lost interest in it. I started restoring it and just ran out of steam, so to speak. Overall the car is pretty solid.
This car needs some love, but it is not junk. I drove it from St. Louis, MO to Long Beach, CA twice for the JCCS. The car ran and drove great and without issue. I even got the farthest driven award the first time (2011). If you go to their website and look around, you'll find a few photos of my car there. I included a photo of the plaque I received at the show, but you can't have it, sorry...
The car better than average (unrestored) interior, solid floors, newer carpet, and a few decent upgrades. As I already mentioned it has the JDM SSS sidedraft SU carbs, QA1 adjustable coil over struts in front (see pics), camber adjusters, Datsun 280Z rear differential, rebuilt rear axles with about 10,000 miles on them, the cool roof rack goes with the car, old school polished slot mag wheels (could use cleaning again). I know there is more, but I can't think of everything at the moment. Feel free to ask anything.
So, the good part is that the car does run, drive, and shift properly. The bad is that, as I mentioned, I started restoring it, so it's not really road ready at the moment. It will need a battery, because I took it out to use in my truck. I have lots of parts to go with this, don't ask what all I have, but I know I have real CARBON FIBER ZG fender flares (see last photo),extra brake parts, the correct air filter assembly for the SU carbs, the original bumpers (not perfect, but useable). One thing I should mention is that, although it does run, drive, and shift properly, it has a broken brake line in the back, so only the front brakes are working at the moment.
With some work, this could be a really nice ride.
