Car description |

Beautiful running Datsun 810 from 1978.
I'm the 4th or 5th owner. Purchased in the early 2000's - say 2003 - I don't really recall.Don't have a keen desire to sell the car but it hardly gets driven anymore and needs to go to someone who loves old cars and appreciates Datsun's specifically.
93,460 miles.
Straight 6 cylinder.
22mpg highway, 17 mpg in the city (but only if you drive conservatively.)
Original owners manual. One original key. All locks work. Interior pulls for fuel door and trunk work.
Painted in 2013. Same color of blue as the original paint. Weatherstrip / rain gasket on the 4 roll down windows replaced at this time.
Tires new in 2013.
I had the original dash re-created by 'All Dash' down in LA. It was installed in 2013.
New brake system installed in 2014.
New battery in 2014.Original AM/FM radio works fine, but the antenna can be difficult to pull out or push in (done by hand, btw).
Car cover with bag.
Everything works besides the clock (which only worked for the 1st year I owned the car anyway).
The air conditioner works but may need a recharge - there are two canisters of refrigerant and a recharge kit in the trunk.
Rear window defogger works but is slow to warm up...it is original glass & electrics, so it just may be age causing the slowness.
Interior is slightly faded. Some cardboard pieces are in need of replacement.
One photo shows the seat belt light and door open light operational. All 'idiot lights' functional for each appropriate item (battery, fuel, floor temp, etc) The seat belt buzzer is still hooked up.
Known issues - mostly cosmetic:
windshield washer motor is either not functioning or the fluid isn't getting to the windshield
the carpet in the drivers area is detached and needs to be reattached or replaced.
the center console storage lid had a vinyl 'hinge' which is no longer there.
small little pieces of plastic and cardboard - about 6 of them - need to be reinstalled or replaced.
a rip across the passenger front seat that I have repaired but it is a weak pointsmall hole in muffler that can be welded...just haven't gotten to it.
there is a chrome 'cap' over the end of the exhaust pipe that is rusty
three small blisters on the roof
three places where the vinyl has torn - only one of which is very noticeable.
chrome tape has come off an area on the front grill
there is a spare rim but I forgot to get the tire replaced when I purchased the other 4.
interior hood pull works to open the hood but needs to be pushed back in when closing the hood in order for the latch to catchCA registration due by the end of July '17also time for fluids to be changed
Additional items that are in the trunk ('cause finding OEM parts can be difficult so I bought them when possible):
another Datsun 810 grill in original box
another full set of 4 hubcaps
another set of windshield wipers (not the blades but the metal brackets)
two Datsun 810 emblems - one for the rear left side and one for the trunk
an original, still in package, door striker.
a tail light, left one I think, that has cracked lenses but might be able to be repaired
an original 810 service manual and a Haynes manual as wellfile of service records
Overall, the car is a good one. Starts up every time. Likes to go fast (due to the straight six). Offers a smooth ride.
I wouldn't say the car is 'unmolested' - it was painted and has a new dash. But for the most part, it's original.
The car has been taken care of and is a great car for just driving around town.
Registration is in my name and clean. Car passed California smog in 2016.
Sold as-is-where-is. $1000 Paypal initial payment upon end of auction. Cash for remainder at time of pick-up.If you wish for delivery, payments will need to clear Paypal's 3-5 days holding time before shipping will be arranged. All pick-up and delivery arrangements are the buyers responsibility.
