You're viewing my 1977 Datsun 280Z coupe. The car has 97,480 original miles and underwent a soft restoration a few years ago. Original owners manual as well as warranty/service booklet in glovebox. This is an original factory yellow car that has been repainted in a slightly brighter yellow than stock. It looks good but is not "show/concours" quality. It was not a "windows out" job, but was done pretty well and has great shine. Two repaired chips in the windshield. Headlight covers and body side molding added. The gentleman I purchased the car from inherited the car from his father when he passed away. It was in their family for over 25 years, and always garaged. It had sat mostly unused for a few years and wasn't running well, so when I bought it I had the injectors cleaned, fluids changed, and a new battery installed. I have a folder with records and paperwork where there was over $14k spent on the restoration a few years ago. I consider the car "driver quality" as it's solid and looks great, but under close inspection you will find minor little flaws around the car. The average passerby will think it looks fantastic! There is some minor overspray on some of the rubber trim in a few places. Easily replaced, just didn't bother me enough to do it. The engine is the original to the car and runs good, especially once warmed up. Could probably benefit from a valve adjustment, but again it runs well as is. The automatic tranny operates fine, but occasionally it revs a little high before shifting into the next gear. May just need to be driven more frequently? It doesn't slip, it just doesn't always upshift unless you back off the gas a little. Again, doesn't happen all the time...usually just when it's cold. Might need a fluid change? The interior of the car is nice and clean with very nice seat covers, door panels, and carpets. The dash has a "full" cover (not the partial cap) over it, so it almost looks factory stock. Gauges work however they don't light up when the lights are switched on. I'm guessing the dimmer switch needs replaced. Aftermarket radio/cassette is missing its knobs. The car sports upgraded/newer ZX rims (off an '81 I believe) and look great. Tires look almost new with lots of tread. The car runs, drives and stops good. This is a great car for someone wanting a classic Z car without spending $30k+ for a freshly restored example. What's going for this car is it's very solid with original floors, and with very low original miles. It can be enjoyed as is or taken to the next level to be a real show winner. Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. I am a private collector thinning my collection and don't have time for dreamers or game players. Zero feedback bidders MUST contact me prior to bidding, or your bids will be cancelled and you will be blocked. I have had too many bad experiences with people playing games and never paying. This not only wastes time and money, but takes away the opportunity for sincere bidders to win. I require a $500 PayPal deposit to be paid immediately following the auction, and the remaining balance to be paid by bank wire within 3 business days after the auction. Thanks for looking and happy bidding. This is a No Reserve Auction, so the last bid wins! Good luck!
