This Datsun is California Titled and Plated***
Listed for sale is my ultra rare, left hand drive, 1970' Datsun U521 pick-up. If you know Datsuns, you know how hard these are to come by; I don't know of another U521 in the states. Purchased as an all original survivor, this truck was restored in 2013 (in Costa Rica) and then imported to, California as of July 2016. This was my daily driver and adventure vehicle when I lived in Central America, and I purchasedit in early February 2016. Since it's restoration it has seen plenty of use.
According to previous owner, In 2013 this Datsun received a rotisserie style restoration
-Body was put onto a rotisserie, stripped, and painted .
-Chassis stripped and painted
-All rubber except ¼ pop-out windows have been replaced (glass and trim all original).
-Interior reupholstered
-Engine, transmission, and driveshaft, have all been rebuilt
-New OEM carburetor
-Modern electrical System
Overall this Datsun is in great condition, given its age, and where it's from. Although not perfect, it's still a phenomenal vehicle. If I were to rate the exterior, I would give it a 8/10, and the interior would also get a modest 8/10, I would give the drive train a solid 8/10. Fortunately this Datsun is from an arid region in Costa Rica, which is one of the reasons why it's still around and hasn'trotted away.
It has a vibration between 40-60kph, due to bad king pins and consequently, poor alignment. I recommend changing King Pins and giving it an alignment (I'm including a set of rare, original $200 king pins with the sale) For a small fee, I can arrange to have them installed by my Datsun mechanic, if you choose. Does not include a radio, although its pre-wired and speakers are in place.
This Datsun is a great weekend car, beach cruiser, or hobby car. Being that it's so unique, it could even be used as a great marketing tool for the right company.I have owned many different Datsuns, from 510's, 620's, 520's and many more, but no Datsun turned heads like this one does. I'm selling it because i'm trying to fund a building project, and I already have too many vehicles.
This vehicle is being sold as-is with no refunds, just like any other vehicle, I recommend you seeing it in person before purchasing it. You can direct message me and I will answer any questions you might have.Board, racks, and cooler not included.
A $500, non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of auction close, via paypal. Full payment is due within 5 business days of auction close. If full payment is not received within auction close, deposit is forfeited. I can assist with transport, if necessary. I recommendvehicle is towed away until king pins are replaced.
