no reserve:I picked up this little Datsun 1300 pickup from its original owner. He purchased it when he came back from Vietnam war. He drove it until late 90's because there are several old inspection stickers in the glove box. I really think it's a cool truck and had asked about it back in 2003 or so but now I have 2 boys 7 &10 and we can't all ride in this and enjoy it. It was likely headed to the scrapper but I got and brought up the title and now will pass it on.It has sat a number of years, it needs the rubber brake lines, tires, and numerous other little things such as fluids, such as new rubber fuel line. The motor oil is nice dark color dirty but with no water. I put a battery in it and the motor turned over. I may try some ether in it later this week to see if it will fire off. I was told it was using oil when it was parked. May need a valve job may need rings? The transmission is a 4speed, everything under the hood appears to be there right down to the air cleaner. On youtube under 68 datsun 520 turning over you can see the motor crankingThe inside is original the seat is in surprising good shape no major rips, showing its grain pattern, the door panels and headliner are there but in poor shape. This truck had metal dash so no cracks, it has the AM datsun radio, and was told the heater in it was the deluxe one. Some knobs are incorrect and have been replaced. The glass is not cracked however windshield shows bubbling,The exterior shows to have one repaint. The rockers have been replaced/recovered see pics. The cab has place on the driver's floor that has been riveted too. Each front corner of the outer cab floor has small rust hole. Looking under the cab behind the seat is a little rust. I pulled out the carpet to see the floors and to prevent moisture trapping causing more damage. The fenders have some bumps and bruises but should be fixable. The passenger side cab/bed have a repair where filler has started cracking. The hood is in good shape as is the grille, the roof has had a hole for a CB antenna or something in its lifetime. Surprisingly the bed and tailgate are in very good shape, the rear bumper is heavy duty and would accept a 2" ball easily. The spare tire is still hanging in its original location!! Two extra wheels with snow chains also come with the truck.(gives me flashbacks to my dad's 510)Bottom line: This truck is not perfect but a great survivor example or candidate to restore or drive as is like a mini rat rod. These little trucks are the next big thing. I'm seeing more and more of them at car shows here in Oklahoma they are scarce they got crushed. The latest roadkill episode uses a datsun like this.Truck can stay here up to 45 days. I'm located within 30 minutes of I-35 or I-40 just nw of OKC.
