Car description |
---|
You can see from the pics that this is not your ordinary 280z. Everyone who sees this carloves it. When I purchased it the previous owner had already customized it into a convertible.I liked the lines but did not like the look or functionof the custom fabricated top so I decided to convert the car into a classic roadster look. I've done most of the work myself and wanted to be able to continue to drive the car while I was doing little pieces of work at a time. I started from the bottom and worked my way up.
To stiffen up the chassis I ordered and welded in new steel Bad Dog frame rails.
The suspension and braking have all been refurbished including all new = master cylinder flushed brakelineswith new fluid, rethane bushings, okico springs, ear struts, ront shocks, all joints, tc., nd new Cooper Radial G/T tires (about 1,000 miles on them) I even replaced the dreaded spindle pins!
On to the drive train... New = battery, as tank, xhaust and magnaflow performance muffler, uel pump, uel pressure regulator, uel filter, ebuilt dual weber carbs, ertronix electronic ignition and flamethrower coil, parkplug wires, hermostat, lutch master and slave cylinder.Flushed and filled transmission and diff with all new Red Linefluids.
I'm probably forgetting some things but that's what I can remember.
I then moved to the interior and stripped out all the old carpet and sound deadeninggunk and that's as far as I got whenchild number 6 arrived. Other than installing a new Grant Walnut Steering wheel I haven't had any time to do anymore work on thecar. My intentions were torust and sound proof the interior (I have purchased Rust Bullet coatingand Eastwood Thermo-coustic material for the job and they will come with the car). I also purchased a new black carpet kit made for the 280z, t will come with the car.
You will notice from the pics that I removed the center console and the trunk lid while I was working on stripping the car interior. I will replacethose before the car ispicked up/shipped if thebuyerwould like or just package them up whichever you prefer.
When I finished the interior I was planning to strip the body down to bare metal and prep and prime it to be repainted (it looks sweet from 20 feet away as is), henhave a custom Tonneau cover made with the center zipperwhich would really finalize the look of the roadster!
I probably have some other new parts that are not coming to mind but everything that I have will come with the car to the new owner.
You may have noticed a yellow 280z Roadster listed on ebay currently for $18,500. My reserve is a fraction of that amount and I'm sure even if you had a shop finish everything off for anotherfew thousand dollars you would have a car thatwould beaverysweet ride for half that amount.
Please shoot me any additional questions you have and good luck bidding.
