Up for sale is this rust free series 1 Datsun 240z. With a build date of 11/70, his particular car falls under the series 1 grouping of the 1st Datsun 240z's. The series 1's are 200 pounds lighter than the other 240s', ave higher compression E31 cylinder heads, nd have various other unique factors such as emblems, peedo, nd vents on the rear hatch.I bought this particular car from a guy that had got it from the original owner's family in Sacramento California. Before that, he car had spent almost its entire existence in Phoenix Arizona. Because of the dry climates, his car is virtually rust free. There is a small bubble the size of my thumb on the rear wheel well on the passenger side, nd some slight surface rust, n the passenger door. Originally orange, he car was repainted blue with silver accents but it's old and faded. I was planning on keeping this car and painting it orange again but I've come across another series 1 that's also in great shape. I'm listing both and keeping whichever one doesn't sell 1st.The interior is in great shape with new carpet, full dash cap, nd a headliner that still looks new. All the gauges work except for the clock (typicall of all z's) and the seats are clean but have a couple of tears. This car does have the matching number L24 with the E31 head but it's not in the car. The head has bent valves and needs a rebuild. Currently the car is running a strong L26 (it has been fully painted and looks great). It burns a small amount of oil but runs great. It also has 2.25 inch exhaust from the y-pipe back with a Magnaflow muffler. Sounds great. The brakes are new (including the master cylinder), he tires are new, he clutch is new, he alternator is new, nd I've upgraded the radiator and cooling fan to that of the larger 280z.Things that need attention are listed below. Please give me a call with questions. I'm asking $10,000 OBO. This has widely been thought of as the last year to get 240z's for $10,000 or under before they start taking off. The series ones are already bringing in a premium. I have personally driven this car across multiple states and can vouch for its reliability. Everything from the engine to differential has Royal Purple Full synthetic oil and I'm religious on keeping to regular change intervals.-Fuel filler hose has shrunk and leaks a bit if you overfill the tank. (I have a new one from Nissan, till in the package that I will include)-There is an exhaust leak at the y-pipe. If you drive with the window down you'll smell like exhaust.-The pressure differential switch (proportioning valve) is finnecky and sometimes causes the car to pull when braking hard.
