1988 Toyota Van Wagon 4WD Manual 5-Speed Transmission // Vanwagon 4x4

1988 Toyota 4WD Van w/ Manual 5-Speed Transmission and Hi-Lo 4x4 Transfercase. Hello out there. I am selling my clean 1988 Toyota 4wd Van with a manual 5-Speed transmission and Hi-Lo 4x4 transfer case. The van has served me very well during the time I've owned it. The 4-wheel drives works well and as it should. In April of this year. it has just had a brand new clutch installed by the vintage Toyota experts at Willamette Boulevard Service Center in Portland. Oregon (receipt in hand). At that time I had them replace all the lubricating fluids in the van. That includes the oil in the motor. oil filter. oil in both front and rear differentials (axles). oil in the transmission. and the oil in the transfer case. The van starts up easily and every time. It has 256k miles. but the bulletproof 4Y-E 2. 2 liter motor runs incredibly strong. and DOES NOT SMOKE on startup or at any point. This would lead me to suspect that a previous owner had had the head done (valve guides and seals). but I have no verification of this work. Engine sounds as it should. no ticking or knocking. or observable leaking. Oil level light will come on and off on occasion… after some research this appears to be a common problem amongst the LE models due to a faulty sensor. Oil level is as it should be. This is and LE model and came from the factory with both heat and air conditioning. but the air conditioning is no longer functioning. The AC hasn’t worked for the duration of my ownership. I have never taken it in for a diagnostic test so I am unsure of the source of the problem. This also means that the built in refrigerator also does not work. Heat works strong. Switch controlling the recycled air mode to outside air intake mode is stuck. temperature control and fan speed work well. The van has all the power features you’d expect in an LE model. Power windows and locks work well. power mirrors no longer functional… you must adjust them by hand. Another neat feature of the LE model are the swiveling rear captains chairs. great for hanging out in the back with friends… see photos. Interior is in decent condition. No rips in the upholstery aside from the passenger front arm rest and drivers side door panel. Walls show some wear as the previous owner would use the van to transport materials for construction projects. Headliner is in good shape. Front windshield is brand new. All other glass in intact. The two front tires are new. and the rear two are in good condition with about 60% life left. Front and rear tires are not a matched set. Front differential features the aftermarket upgraded Warn locking hubs. Paint has been touched up in places. and the body is good but not perfect. some dents… see photos. Only very minimal rust visible under passenger rear fixed window… see picture. Alignment is good and the van is certainly mechanically sound. Clean Washington State title in hand. I am more than willing to have the van inspected by a local mechanic of your choice. Also. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. I know you probably see this a lot. but I would not hesitate to drive this thing cross-country right now. It is fully functional and ready to roll to it's next adventure.
