Car description |
---|
You are bidding on the highly stylized and desirable 72 Citroen SM with a 5 speed manual transmission. The car has a restored interior (with a new headliner and trunk carpeting), newer paint, and even the original factory radio. This car was purchased in California from another collector and has never been driven during the winter, so the body and underchassis still present like a southwestern car.
The car sits on a good Michelin tires and drives well. The accumulator sphere was recently replaced with all fluids flushed/changed with the appropriate LHM fluid and the hydraulics (suspension, brakes, steering) working well.
The steel body panels look straight with no indication of repair work or filler. The vehicle has the original Sekurit glass, and the lighting/electrical/dashboard indicator systems are all functional. The dash is smooth with no cracks, and the trim on the dash panel and center console is in good condition.
I have confirmed the service history from previous shops in California that took care of the vehicle before my ownership, validating the mileage in the listing and critical service work essential to these vehicles being performed.
This car would make a great foundation vehicle and could be put it at the top of it's class (upwards of $70k) by focusing on restoration of the engine bay/undercarriage. Otherwise similar great drivers typically sell between $35-$50k based on their condition. No reserve is set for this auction.
