Car description |
---|
You are bidding on a rare, original example of a low mileage, Citroen 2cv Charleston. This is a 1986 model, brought into the country as a 67—a common practice for these. This car began its life in Paris and found its way to Ohio with only 16,000 km, then San Diego, and now Virginia. Current mileage reads just under 29,000 km and is believed to be accurate. Its condition reflects its age with limited use. Recent work includes a new master cylinder, clutch cable, brakes front and rear, wheel cylinders, top, upholstery and exhaust.
The car drives very smoothly and is unusually tight. But note that each of the front side panels seem a slightly darker red than the rest of the car. This continues to the top where the fresh air vent is and actually looks like a nice deviation from the norm. I don't know how or when this color variation appeared—only that it seems to embellish the car rather than detract from it. This car has been babied its entire life and cleans up nicely, though there are flaws and specks in the paint here and there, reflective of its age. It also features such original niceties as the original leather strap thar holds the top in a half way position, and a leather grip handle for the passenger. There is even an old Paris street map book that goes with it.This car is a driver that you can take anywhere, any distance. I have set a realistic and fair reserve for a car that is sure to appreciate greatly with some cosmetic attention.
