Car description

This is a 1965 Imperial Crown convertible. This car will be someone's cool summer cruiser. The top down. white leather seats. luxury yacht. This Imperial is a starting. stopping. running. driving car. It needs a few things but you can drive it while you deal with the details. I just noticed that the passenger seat looks crooked in some pictures. I took some pictures before I realized that the seat wasn't bolted down tightly to the floor. I can't be sure of the mileage but it does not seem like a high mileage car. The motor starts right up and runs strong. It has a newly rebuilt carburetor. new plugs. and new points. The brake master cylinder is new and the power brake booster was just professionally rebuilt. The brakes have been bled and are very strong. The dual exhaust system is solid except that it leaks where the exhaust manifolds connect to the motor. I think new gaskets should solve this problem. The battery is new. All of the lights and signals work. All of the gauges work. The power steering works great. The driver's electric seat works. The power top works perfectly and the top is new. I wouldn't say the top is a flawless installation but it's pretty nice. latches down securely. and folds down properly. I believe the seat upholstery is original. The leather shows some wear but they are not torn. They have been re-dyed sometime in the past. The light blue carpet isn't very clean so I put some very cool vintage floor mats in the car. The ventilation/heat system works. I don't know about the A/C. Not all the electric windows work. One rear window works and one vent window works (power vent windows!). I don't know why the other rear window doesn't work. The door windows don't work because the prior owner took the motors out to use in another Imperial he owned. Amongst the many extra parts that go with the car are four electric window motors but I haven't tested them. New motors are available. The tires are very good but the spare doesn't hold air for long. I was going to cover the steering wheel with a wrap because the clear part of the wheel is cracked. of course. but I decided to leave it off. It's in the trunk and you can put it on if you like. This car is remarkably rust-free. The floors and trunk are totally solid. Nothing under the car is rusted out. only surface rust. This even includes the wheel wells and rockers. I suspect this car was not driven in bad weather and kept in a garage most of it's life. There are many more pictures on my Photobucket site. Please have a look before you bid so you can see detailed pictures of everything. See the pictures with this link: mrcob's blue Imperial AlbumThere are ton of parts that come with the car. Have a look at the Photobucket pictures to see them all. If there are some that you don't want. I won't bother you with them. It's crazy how many pieces were collected by the prior owner. Some are perfectly usable. some could be sold. some you might never find a use for. Some of the best items are two excellent parts manuals. a owner's service manual. and a huge manual made for dealership service departments. The parts include gauges. dash pieces. dash knobs. convertible top pistons. window motors. vent windows. headlight covers. two trim pieces that go from the doors to the back of the car (in great shape but so are the ones on the car). stainless trim pieces. a working alternator. belts. hoses. lenses. speakers. a vintage radio. and on and on. It can all pack up into the trunk. I think except the long trim pieces. I'm selling this Imperial as a non-restored car. It has survived remarkably well and is still a nice car. But remember. it is old and imperfect and should be checked out by your own mechanic before you head out on the road. Feel free to ask me any questions.
