It is becoming very hard to spot one of these old beauties on the streets nowadays. Whoever owned one back in the day had a healthy bank account. You certainly don't see them in the classy 2-door models very much. The price of gas has fallen, so now all these classic cars left out there can be driven daily without breaking the bank. Although these Big Blocks are rather thirsty. I purchased this classic locally, but it originally came out of Newell, Virginia in 1968. This baby was last inspected in July of 2000 as noted by the yellow decal still on the windshield. The original owners manual along with the original dealer sleeve with the original owner's information written on the cover are included in the glove box. Those are very rare items to still have been kept with a classic car. I will explain everything I learned from the gentleman I purchased this car from at a local Estate Sale. He said he made the purchase from the original owner in Virginia when he lived in Ohio. This sale comes with a clean and clear Ohio title that was given to me by the previous owner. He said this is the numbers matching original Big Block 383 with just over 80,000 original miles. This land yacht had been sitting for several years, so I had all the fluids changed. I also had new brake lines and the transmission lines replaced. While I was at it I decided to have all four new brakes installed. In preparation for this sale the Big Block 383 was given a fresh oil change along with a brand new distributor cap, all brand new spark plugs, and brand new spark plug wires. This engine starts right up and cruises proudly down the road straight as an arrow. Included in this sale is all four original steel wheels with all four radial one inch whitewall tires, and all four original hubcaps are in the trunk. I acquired the set of Vintage Mag Wheels to give this old classic that muscle car look. There are all new chrome lug nuts, and those wheels are wrapped with B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A Raised White Lettered Tires with nice tread. The floors all seem to be in good solid condition as well as the trunk floor. The front carpeting was just replaced with brand new carpeting like the factory original, although the rear carpeting will need to be replaced. The rather comfortable interior is partial cloth partial vinyl, and in pretty nice condition for a 52 year old car. There is the full compliment original seat belts still mounted in the proper spots to pack in the full family for a night at the local drive in movie theater, so the whole family can be safe. The dash board is in very nice shape with no cracking and lots of chrome. Even the original factory AM Radio still plays well and sounds great..Whatever this classic 1968 Big Block 383 sells for in this quick "No Reserve" 5-day auction is a win/win investment. This is not a Barrett-Jackson museum quality show piece by any stretch of thee imagination, but does present itself very well. I was told that the paint is all original and I couldn't find anything to prove otherwise. The new owner will need to add a new exhaust system, but I believe that would allow this huge boat to be used as a nice daily driver type of Classic Car. This Chrysler is an investment that I believe will continue to rise as these antique's and classics have consistently shown to escalate in value with almost every quarter.
