This is one of only 501 cars built with the optional drivetrain of a Getrag 5 speed manual transmission and 16-valve head version of the 2.2 L. This engine is often called the "Maserati" engine because it was built by Maserati and has a Maserati-branded cast valve cover.

The 200 hp (149 kW; 203 PS) 16-valve 2.2 L "Maserati" engine's cylinder head was cast in England by Cosworth and finished in Italy by Maserati. The pistons came from Mahle GmbH in Germany. The camshafts were designed by Florida-based Crane Cams and were manufactured by Maserati in Modena. The "Maserati" engine used a specially-made 2.2 block, upgraded crankshaft and rods. A Japanese turbocharger was sourced from IHI. The rest of the engine used common Turbo II parts made in the United States.

Overhead there's both a convertible top that stows beneath a hard tonneau cover, as well as the distinctive color-matched porthole hardtop.

For the last 10 years, the car has been garaged and rarely driven. As is typical as they've aged, the porthole glass has fogged some. There is a crack in the windshield, not obstructing driving view. The 2 seats are not the original leather and have been re-upholstered. Right rear quarter panel has been re-painted in repair of a dent. ABS system was recently replaced. Since the most recent servicing, the odometer has been working intermittently.
