Car description |
---|
1957 Imperial Crown Southampton Coupe that is in original condition (couple of paint touchups). The odometer shows in the 33,000 range but I do not know if it has gone around or not. I just had new wide white wall radial tires installed (over $1000.00) and have had over $1500.00 worth of mechanical work done including, new fuel tank, new radiator hoses, new thermostat, new freeze plugs (the block was cleaned out behind the plugs), new brake springs on the back brakes, new water pump, new battery and a couple of new belts. The 392 HEMI runs well and the car drives pretty good for it's age. The transmission must be operated in 2nd until warm but shifts to Drive very well after warming up.
Now the not so good: The shift cable from the push buttons to the transmission is sticky and sometimes will not shift out of Drive. The car has pretty much the usual rust of the Chrysler products of the period. The lower right front fender and the right rocker are rusted but I have the new patch panels that will go with the car. The rear wheel wells/quarter panel openings have rust. The floorboards are good however. The chrome could use attention but is presentable as it is.
As it is a 60+ year old vehicle, there is no warranty expressed or implied. I encourage your inspection of the car.
