Car description |
---|
This Car was PRODUCTION #0024 so it was probably destined for one of America's dealers show room floor!
President Kennedy had declared that the USA was going to moon and automobile designers went into spaceship mode
One Owner Survivor that has been sitting in a garage for 31 years. It's so cool because it is exactly like it was left!!
This Imperial was Chrysler's answer to competing with Cadillac and it was built to compete!
All we have done is wash it, clean the inside a bit, hook battery cables up to turn it over and check the windows and seat!
Some of the cool stuff413 Cubic Inch Small Block with 340 HorsepowerThe motor and transmission were COMPLETELY rebuilt at 90,601 Miles including new Starter, Brake Solenoid, U-joints and several other parts in 1983, so that means it has 1495 miles since rebuild!! That's about 300 miles per year until 1988!!Push Button Automatic TransmissionPower BrakesPower SteeringPower Windows (All work up and down)Power Seat (Works)Power Antenna (Works)Factory Air ConditioningAll the glass is good and crystal clear!!!New Bias Ply Tires LOL!! (Installed in 1983) Probably shouldn't drive on them but they hold air?Factory Hubcaps all thereAll the trim is in great shape except missing Imperial Emblem on the Passenger Side (One located in Texas $95)Rear Cigarette lighter in each door with ashtrays (It was fashionable back then!)Fold Down Rear Seat DividerTrunk is Pristine with the original Spare, Cover, Jacking Instruction and Optional Carpet! All the doors shut like fine tuned instruments. My Grandson even realized it!!I have a stack of maintenance and repair receipts and all the original owners manual
I'm sure the title is clean if I had it. I have the death certificate and the executors certificate and can get a Texas Title for $300 additional if you want.
Not so good stuff includesFuel system from gas tank to carburetor need to be cleanedBelts, Spark Plug Wires and Heater hoses have completely deterioratedPassenger door may have been damaged at some time because it looks like primer is bleeding through paintTail light lenses are both brokenSeats and Frames are all good but the covers are rotten
So that is about all I know about it. Opposed to my wife and daughter, I hope it doesn't sell cause it does look cool sitting under the carport. My health is way too bad for me to work on it, but when the weather cools down I might be able to talk my grandson through getting it running. If that happens, I'm keeping it and you can buy it at my estate sale!!!!
Transportation is solely the responsibility of the buyer, at the buyers cost and this is an inoperable vehicle for anyone you hire to transport it for you. I will be glad to assist and make it assessable to any type transport.
Please email any questions you have and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
