THERE ARE 213 PICTURES OF THIS CAR!
Up for sale is a 1956 Chrysler 4-door sedan. This is a very solid, un-restored original car, and it is 100% complete. It is Hemi powered - highly optioned - and it runs, drives and stops.
This car is originally from Yakima Washington; it then spend some time in Idaho, and it now resides in Wheat Ridge, CO. I have done absolutely nothing to this car since I received it, except repair the passenger's side door handle.
Odometer says 79,103 miles. I believe that is 179,103, but I have no way to prove it one way or the other.
I don't think it has run much in the last few years, but in the few times I have taken it around the neighborhood I can tell you - This car floats. Power steering is smooth. Power brakes grab as they should. The big Hemi has plenty of power. Transmission kicks down hard... It's very fun to drive.
The car is amazingly complete - every single piece of trim is present - inside and out - and in good shape overall.
All four doors open from the inside and out. All four windows go up and down. All the glass is original Solex and in very good shape.
Almost all the accessories work. Lights, 3 out of 4 turn signals, defrost, map light, dome light, emergency brake light, speedometer, amp gauge, fuel gauge, temp gauge, and oil pressure gauge. This car has the rare tri-tone trumpet horn but alas, it is not working. But the power seats even work!!
Original aluminum "Forward Look" keys are present, and all the locks actually function (wow!) - both doors and trunk too. Original owners manual and quite a bit of vintage paperwork as well.
New tires in 2015 with less than 2000 miles on them.
The body is very solid overall. There is isolated rust in the quarters, mostly in front of the wheelwells, but a little behind as well. The fender doglegs have a small amount of rust as well. Otherwise - rockers, wheel lips, cowl, doors, hood, deckid, floors, trunk floor - all extremely solid. Look at all the pictures - I have pictured every single inch of the underside.
There are some bumps, bruises and scrapes throughout, but it has never been hit. I believe the gold paint to be original, and I think the white was touched up - but very long ago. It has an extremely original appearance .
Interior is original and complete. It is showing its age but is functional and workable; something you can fix as-you-go. There is an old seat cover on the front seat...
The big 354ci Hemi is complete and original. Correct original air cleaner, Carter WCFB, valve covers, generator, etc. It runs really well.
Lastly - the not-so-good: Any unrestored 63-year-old car is going to have issues - these are the bad things I have found: 1) Needs to be jumped when it's cold out; when it's warm, it starts right up. 2) Appears to be a small power steering leak somewhere... it drips a little when running. 3) The transmission has made a loud, harsh, clunking sound on me. Twice. In low gear, when moving slowly. I do not know what it is... I tapped the brakes and it went away. 4) Expect to basic perform basic tune-up stuff at the very least.
I have a good title for the car. It's a Idaho title, and it does have the seller's info filled in, but the buyer's info is clear and open.
Please look at all the pictures. I could yammer on and on about the car but no description of it can tell you what these pictures will...
