For sale here is my 1939 Chrysler Royal Sedan. It's a manual 3 speed with overdrive. I hate to sell it but I need the money and the room in the garage because I'm re-starting a Dash Glass business I sold in 1979.This car runs smooth and drives very well. I have recently replaced all 4 shocks, Installed new 16" Diamondback wide whitewall radials. I also had the starter motor rebuilt and had the Spitfire head milled .050 for a little more compression and HP. The initial compression readings before the mill work averaged 92lbs. After removing .050 the average was 104lbs for a 13% increase.I drained the trans and refilled with the specified lube. The pinion seal leaks and should be replaced.....fairly simple. I installed an electric fuel pump for easy starting after it sits for a couple of days.
I have not found any rust out or cancer anywhere on the body or frame. The paint which appears to be original or a very old repaint is in nice shape but could use some buffing and cleaning of old wax around the chrome pieces.. There is a thin spot on the rear roof on the rt. side.
The interior appears to be original except for the door panels. They were replaced with some very nice wood similar to what you would find in a woody. The old original door panels are in the trunk for patterns. The seats appear to be original and show their age. The headliner was removed because it was stained but I saved it for a pattern or maybe a dry cleaning or dye job would save it. The wind lacing needs to be replaced. All glass is intact but is delaminating here and there. I replaced the dash knobs with new. The gauge and speedo glass has been replaced and I sandblasted and painted the glove box door to simulate the original ivory plastic coating. I will include a can of paint so you can paint the gauge surround to match. You can see in the photo of the gauge cluster that at idle and warmed up the oil pressure is over 30lbs and the generator is charging. The temp gauge works but the gas gauge does not. All the lights work and I installed a headlight relay for brighter headlights. The fog lights are not hooked up. Installed a new 6 volt battery a few months ago and new heavy battery cables. The car came to me with True Line wire wheels but I went back to stock rims with hub caps and beauty rings. These wheels are included.
I have more than 11K in the car so my loss is your gain.I'm sure I have forgotten something so all questions will be answered.More photos to come of the undercarriage.
