C62 Club Coupe
1 of 5,659 2-door models produced.
264.5 Spitfire Flathead 6
Powerflite 2-Speed Automatic Column Shift
The Story:
Car started and idled running off of a gas can, trans was dry. Brake master cylinder made pressure, but system leaked through the left rear wheel cylinder. Filled with coolant, got leaked down into oil pan (suspect head gasket), clean and rebuilt carb to further diagnostics. Car starts and runs rough off of 12v battery and coil (original 6v). I suspect the oil level in the pan is now high enough with the coolant in it for the crankshaft to slap, causing the idle issue. Carb does not appear to be original, as the air cleaner does not fit.
Carpets, trunk liner, door panels, and re-upholstered seats all deteriorated, gutted the lot. Driver side floor pan, passenger corner, and trunk corners all rot through.
Door panels included for reference but unsalvagable. Interior as well as exterior brightwork not mounted is in trunk minus the hood ornaments as well as a few other pieces. Does not have the radio.
Frame, suspension and steering solid, caked with undercoating and road grime.
Front and rear curved glass is good, driver side straight glass is the only one cracked, driver's vent window post cracked, though all four vent windows' glass is good.
Lugs are bolts, not nuts, left side of the car left-hand thread, right side right-hand.
Project comes with the "standard" box of misc. parts.
Feel free to ask questions, I'll answer what I can.
