Car description

Up for auction is a 1982 Chrysler Cordoba Cabriolet with only 88,506 miles on it. It is a V8, 318 automatic, column shift. It's rust free and has good driver-quality rear quarter extensions (although not original to the car). Overall, the car is in great shape and starts and drives well every time I take it out. I'm selling the car because of an upcoming move. I believe there were 1600 made that had the cabriolet top (simulated convertible top conversion by American Sunroof Company) in 1982.

It has never been in an accident. As you can see in the pictures, it has the "patina" look that's popular now with paint fade on the trunk, deck lid and bumper extensions. There are a few minor dings on it - mostly on the passenger side and a few minor scratches as one would expect of a 35 year old vehicle. The top looks great; still nice and white. Car comes with a set of 17" U.S. Mags as you can see in the pictures. Tires are 235-55-17 and are in great shape.

Car is fully loaded, although some things aren't working perfectly any longer due to age. It has power steering, door locks, windows, cruise and tilt. Power windows go up and down fine. I just rebuilt the driver's side. It also has a power seat option, although I removed that because the old one wasn't working. I have since located a working power driver's seat base (8 way) but have yet to install it as I'm perfectly happy with a manual seat. The base is included. The AC compressor works but no cold air. I also can't seem to get the power antenna or windshield washer to work and I have never tried the cruise.

It also has a leather wrapped steering wheel and am/fm cassette player and remote trunk release. Radio works fine. Was very well maintained and has many new parts. Some newer parts include the alternator, front brakes and hoses, master cylinder, radiator, A/C condenser and battery and wiper motor by the previous owner. The following have been replaced within the last 200 miles: fuel filter, pcv valve, heater core and hoses, coolant flush, thermostat, bypass hose, rear shocks, front shocks (Monroe Sensa Trac all around) and rear brake lines, rear wheel cylinders and brake hardware. Exterior wise, the chrome trim and bumpers are real nice and the cabriolet top is in great shape.
The interior is in nice shape and the dash is not cracked. The car originally came with a red 60/40 split seat which has been replaced (by me) with a red bucket seat set up and a custom console with cup holders where the shifter would be located. The red carpeting is in great shape, as is the blue console carpeting, the kick panel storage and OEM floormats. The driver floor mat has some wear. I like the blue accents on the red. There is one small tear in the backseat, on top as shown in the picture. The headliner is white vinyl and in nice shape. If you aren't into the red on red look, I have a great tan set (pictured in my LS parts car with only 55000 mile on it) that I can put in for a fee.

I found the build sheet when I was replacing the seats. It came with the aluminum road wheels but they were not on it when I bought the car. It had the wire hubcaps when i bought it a few years ago. The winning bidder has the option to buy a set of road wheels that I have with a matching spare for $150 should he/she want them, but they need a polish. The car originally came with a convenience spare tire which I have replaced with a full size spare. All jack components are present. The convenience spare is available should the buyer want it.

This car runs and drives well for a 35 year old vehicle and floats down the road like other Chrysler's of this era. I have not driven more than a few miles a time, so shipping may be your best net if you arr far away. It is getting loud, so it may need an exhaust soon. It also has been clunking on occasion when shifting into gear from park. But once you are driving, it shifts and drives fine when going down the road.

There are also a few minor things that may need attention: the power antenna is not working (it's up though), there is minor paint fading on the hood, deck lid and front fender extensions (which looks cool) and the quarter extensions could be better, but they aren't bad. I pulled them from the 1982 LS parts car that I have (pictured). The paint is close but not exact. This car is red crystal coat and is wearing its original paint. You can even faintly see the initials of the original owner on the doors. The a/c may only need a charge and a hose (it was working before the heater core was replaced but hasn't been converted to R134a).

Overall a nice cruiser that's fun to drive and gets attention at shows and on the road. If you have any questions, please contact me (John -518-573-2372) and I will answer your questions as best as I can. This is a no reserve sale and staring at a very reasonable price for the year it was built - $1,982.00. The wheels and tires are worth half that. A $250 non-refundable deposit is due upon winning. Good luck and happy bidding.

Car is sold as is with no warranty. It's for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early.

Thanks for your interest and your questions. To answer a question - I do have the Thermo-Guard cover for the battery. I took the pic after charging and installing the battery. It will be installed prior to the sale.
