HE HAD THEM REPAINT IT BEFORE HE RETIRED. HE ALSO HAD THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION REBUILT. GARAGE KEPT AND ALWAYS LOCAL, THIS CAR RUNS WELL AND SHOWS NICELY. WE REPLACED THE TAIL LIGHT AND FRONT MARKER LENSES WITH THOSE $750. ONES LISTED CURRENTLY ON EBAY. WE REPLACED THE PACKAGE TRAY AND KICK PANELS TOO (SPEAKER HOLES). THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL CALIFORNIA CAR THAT HAS REMAINED IN SANTA MARIA, CA SINCE IT WAS NEW. IT WAS ASSEMBLED AT THE JEFFERSON CHRYSLER PLANT IN DETROIT. IT RUNS WELL AND GOES TO SHOWS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WITH EASE AND COMFORT. APPARENTLY FOUR DOOR HARDTOP VERSIONS ARE VERY RARE. THIS CAR ATTRACTED ATTENTION AT WOODLEY PARK DURING THE LARGEST MOPAR SHOW WEST OF THE MISSISSIPPI CPW SPRING FLING. WHEN WE DROVE INTO THE SHOW (PICTURED IN PHOTO NEXT TO 1969 DODGE CHARGER RT AT SHOW) THERE WAS A 1962 CHRYSLER 300 H CONVERTIBLE ACROSS FROM US AND PEOPLE WERE AMAZED BY OUR FOUR DOOR. MANY SAID THEY HAD SEEN LETTER CARS BUT NEVER A 4 DOOR HARDTOP. THIS IS THE FIRST YEAR OF THE NON-LETTER 300 SERIES AND THIS VEHICLE IS A WELL-MAINTAINED EXAMPLE THAT IS MOSTLY ORIGINAL IN CONDITION. THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN OUR TOWN FOR 55 YEARS. PEOPLE TELL US THAT THEY KNOW THE CAR AND THE PREVIOUS OWNER WHO RAN THE PAINT SHOP AT IVERSON MOTORS, THE HOME OF THE HIKING VIKING. WE FOUND THE PRODUCTION BROADCAST OR BUILD SHEET WHILE INSTALLING THE PACKAGE TRAY. THERE WERE NO RUSTED AREAS OR HOLES IN THE FLOORS. THE PAINT HAS NO RUST BUBBLES AND THE CAR WAS PAINTED MORE THAN FIFTEEN YEARS AGO. THE FIRST SEVERAL PHOTOS WERE TAKEN 4-20-17.
