Car description

You won't find another of these. This 1954 Chrysler New Yorker was in original condition when I bought it and looked like it was just pulled from a barn. You might find a few of these that have been restored, but you won't find one with a patina like this that actually runs and drives great. I made it a "Tribute Car" to honor Richard Petty's Dad and early NASCAR racing. This car was purchased in 2004 from the son of the original owner, who drove it from new until about 1990, when it was apparently parked. It has oil change stickers on the door going back about 40000 miles. The only major item that's been redone is the engine, but many minor items have been replaced and rebuilt, including the entire brake system, with the booster rebuilt by Whitepost. Fuel system has been gone through with the fuel pump replaced, tank cleaned, and lines replaced as necessary. The generator, starter relay, and voltage regulator have been professionally rebuilt.

Condition:

The condition is as you'd expect for a 63 year old car that's not been touched. It has a nice patina, with red primer showing through in many places. There is some surface rust on the tops of the rear fenders, and there is rust-through in both rocker panels. Frame is solid with undercoating present in places. Trunk is solid except for near the spare tire well. Interior is old and has some holes, so will need to be replaced if not left original.

Features:

All manual windows. Power drum brakes. Manual steering. No A/C. Two speed automatic transmission shifts great.

Note: Most of this write-up was copied from the eBay listing when I bought the car last year from the guy that bought it in 2004.
