INTRODUCTORY NOTES: The K-Platform was one of the key ingredients to save Chrysler. Lee Iacocca leveraged the versatile platform in many ways, but there was no utilization that was more dramatic or fun than his introduction of the first American-made convertibles since the 1976 Cadillac Eldorado.LOCATION: Snellville, GA 30078...which is is approx. 26 miles northwest of Atlanta. SOME INTERESTING HISTORY ABOUT THIS CAR...a well respected long-time Ferrari technician's wife was in the mood for a new car and instantly fell in love with this (then-new) 1985 Chrysler LeBaron with Turbo-engine and Mark Cross interior - gloriously on display in the upscale Buckhead Chrysler dealer's showroom floor. She insisted on driving it only as an occasional treat in only the best of weather. By 2010 - after 25 years - it had only traveled a mere 8500 miles! EXCELLENT INVESTMENT - the 1980s are just starting to emerge nostalgically with 30 and 40-somethings who grew up back then and now get a kick out of obtaining some of the material highlights of that era that they once dreamed of owning when they grew up.
THE FIRST 26 PICTURES will give you a general overview of the LeBaron, but if you are seriously interested...we suggest that you look at ALL 100+ images because we want you to see EVERYTHING. This is one of those rare vehicles that impresses you more, the CLOSER you LOOK! PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING...TO SEE ALL THE IMAGES: There are over 100 images that will show the car in great detail. BUT, to see ALL of the images, you MUST place your cursor DIRECTLY ON an image...and then scroll gently ALL the way to the bottom (be sure to allow time for all the images to load). CAUTION: If you use the scroll bar to the FAR right of your screen - OR, the "Click to View Image Album" feature - you will NOT be able to see all the images! Over 2,700 TRANSACTIONS WITH HAPPY PEOPLE! As of the date of this listing, we've had over 2,700 transactions (both Buying AND Selling) on eBay without a single complaint. We also give a very detailed description of the car...not just a couple sentences like many listings. QUESTIONS?...after reviewing ALL the images and reading the entire description, please call Jim Murphy if you have any questions: 706-429-7924 BEAUTIFUL ORIGINALITY THROUGHOUT...this is a rare and exceptionally original car...other than tires and routine maintenance items, what you see is exactly what you saw in 1985! Original paint and interior throughout...even the top! OPERATIONAL REPORT: The car is a pleasure to cruise in, and brings smiles to everyone. Exceptionally well maintained, everything we could think of to test worked beautifully...power windows and top, radio, cassette, Air Conditioning, wipers, washers, lighter, and lights/directionals. Note: speed control was not tested.
The ONLY only non-operational exception we found was that the digital Speedometer and Odometer are inoperative. Because digital readout technology was quite new in 1985, it wasn't fully perfected. This problem began very soon after the car was relatively new...worked for some time...and then became intermittent. Generally, the cause is capacitors that are not quite up to the demands of the electronic readout voltages. There are experts who can often remedy this, but it just wasn't important to the owner who only cruised occasionally. Indeed, by 2010 the car had only been driven approx. 8500 miles. We included some document images at right that show 4900 miles in 2002, and 7140 miles in 2004. It is estimated that less than 10,000 miles have been covered since new, but exact mileage cannot be reliably determined/guaranteed.
