After successfully selling one of my classic cars on eBay, am going to continue to "thin out the herd".... I have too many toys and not enough storage room with winter coming... I could also use the cash :)
I pride myself on being 100% transparent on all items I sell, o below is an honest description of ALL issues I know about this car. Other sellers may choose to not disclose everything, r try to hide something by doing a temporary fix, ut that's not how I do business. I want the buyer to have no surprises. Most of the items detailed below are minor oraestheticfixes. This car can confidently be (and has been) driven as-is.
Please understand that I'm not a mechanic, or a body/detail guy, o you're getting a description from a layman in layman terms, ut I'll be as accurate as possible. Also, 'm not a professional photographer (I took all photos with my iPhone) but let me know if you need to see something better or something else not shown and I'll try to get a clean shot of it.
I bought this car from a private seller in Tennessee and had the car shipped to me here in Pennsylvania. I have only owned the car for several months, ut now own too many toys andunfortunatelyneed to let some go...
This car has less than 47,000 original miles - documented on the title. It runs and drives great. Floats down the road and handles turns amazingly well for a car of this size (19 feet long).
The dash is in great shape - no cracks. Headliner in great shape too. Radio and power antenna work. It looks like the car still has the original manufacturer's protective undercoating. Hidden headlight covers open and close properly.
It has a new black vinyl top. Installed by a local shop here in PA - there was some rust on the small strip of metal between the back window and the trunk lid, o that strip was repaired and painted. When you look at it closely, ou can tell the new paint on that strip looks a little different than the old original paint on the trunk (and rest of car). If I didn't point this out, ou probably wouldn't notice it for a while and nobody who sees you with the car would ever know. The vinyl top color is black. The original top color was green. It was in pretty bad shape, o I decided to replace it and thought black would look nice on this car.
It has the original Sherwood Green Metallic paint. Various spots of surface rust, ut no holes. Most have been touched up with a rust-stop treatment and touch-up paint. Various nicks and door dents. Bottom of passenger quarter panel must've been hit in the past and looks like someone tried to hammer or pull it out - it will need dent repair or body work. Same for a small area at bottom of area behind passenger front wheel. I'd say it's in good driver condition as-is. It is NOT a show car. If you wanted it to be one, ou'd need to repaint the entire car.
Needs Servo (A/C) unit. Unit is missing, ut replacements are available for around $300 (I have contact info of one co. that makes them). The previous owner did jerry-rig the heater so that a switch under the dash works the heat (it has only one fan speed).
The car takes a while to start when cold (by "cold" I mean after it's been sitting a while). I was told it needs a choke adjustment, ut I have not done this. Once the car is warm, t fires right up with a turn of the key.
Needs a plastic window washer reservoir - these are readily available for around $30-$40 and are an easy install.
Needs repair to cloth of driver's seat. If you want this repaired perfectly to match exactly with OEM material, t would be pricey. If I kept the car I was going to get a nice black sheepskin cover to cover that seat. The rest of the seats are excellent.
Cruise control does not work.
Rim-blow horn not working - horn was relocated by previous owner to a button on the floor near the high beam button.
8-track works but is finicky.
All power windows work except driver's vent (needs a push to start it).
Fuel gauge reads lower than actual - when the tank is full, t will read between 1/4 and 1/2.
It does have a small antifreeze leak, ossibly from radiator. Seems to leak more when radiator is topped off with anti-freeze.
I do have both wheel skirts, ut one needs repair, o I've left them off the vehicle and in the trunk.
Clear title, egistered in PA as antique vehicle.
I have always used non-ethanol gas in it.
If you are local (I'm located about 40 minutes south of Lancaster, A), ou are more than welcome to come see the car in person (BEFORE you offer/buy, lease). Alternatively, 'd be happy to drive the car to a local-to-me mechanic of your choice to have them check it out (BEFORE you offer/buy, lease). I do reserve the right to end the auction early if I sell the car locally.
The logistics and cost of shipping prevent any type of return/refund, o the car is sold as-is, here-is, ith no warranty or guarantee or return.
I would be happy to assist with your shipper to help ship this car anywhere in the world (I know how much these cars are loved outside the U.S.) but in all cases, unds must clear my bank before I will let the car and title leave my possession. The arrangements and costs for shipping are the responsibility of the buyer.
Please offer/buy only if you intend to complete the purchase. $500 paypal deposit due upon winning bid, nd balance due (cash or certified check) within 7 days - funds must clear before car/title ships/leaves. Thanks for looking and good luck.
If you plan to offer/buy, lease have your money in order. I do not offer financing/payments. Please don't try to obtain financing afterwards, nd please don't offer a trade. Any inspections must be done before sale, ot afterwards. I reserve the right to end this auction or cancel any bid, t any time, r for any reason.
ALL shipping costs and arrangements are the sole responsibility of the buyer. I will do my best to assist you with that transport!
