Car description |
---|
Currently up for sale from my personal collection comes a 1960 Chrysler Windsor 4 door pillarless hardtop. I have owned this car from 1985 and I purchased it from the original owner who garage kept it throughout all those years. Since I have owned it I have kept it stored indoors as well and it has never seen any inclement weather including rain.
This car has 30,815 correct miles. I only have driven this car for a couple of thousand miles (I got it with about 28,000 miles on it). This car drives excellent, asically its a barely broken in 1960 "used" car.
Some of the really cool/rare options for a 1960 include:
- Power Steering
- Power Brakes
- Radio(unsure if it works)
- Clock(unsure if it works)
- Swivel front bucket seats with the Automatic swivel option - open the front door and the seat swivels out, lose it and it goes in.
- Windshield washer system - not many cars in 1960 had windshield washers.
- Faux Spare tire in the decklid (basically a fake spare that they call the "Toilet Seat Option")
- Almost all of the seats and door panels have the plastic covering on them that the original owner said was on the car when new.
- The Electro Luminescentdash assembly works perfectly - the dash lights up beautiful at night.
- Dual exhaust - I added it when I purchased the car because I like the looks and the sound.
It is powered by the venerable 383 Raised Block with a 2 barrel. The transmission is the pushbutton automatic. I tend to drive my other cars in my collection, nd that's why this still has the low mileage. There does not appear to be any leaks under the car, ll the fluids are full. I just recently drove the car up and down the drive and around my facility.
Now the biggest problem I have with this car is that in 1985 I repainted it to the current color black. It was a white car to begin with and I just like the color black. There is nothing hidden here as the paint has been on this car since 1985. I would qualify this car to be LIKE a survivor because all of the mechanicals and interior are unmolested. Being a repaint, t's not truly a "SURVIVOR".
Ialso did something pretty stupid. I had the body man cover the antenna hole over when he repainted it. I don't have any idea why, t might have been broken off and I did not have a replacement. I also have no idea what I did with the original jack.
The picture showing some scratches and a couple small dents right below the decklidis the only damageon this car. I don't remember when this happened. Most likely I was pushing something around and I bumped into it. I have owned and still own a lot of cars, o I don't remember little things like this.
I would be more than happy to personally show you the vehicle at my place. Please contact me through the Ebay system or call me during the day at (440)-355-4085.
