PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION BEFORE YOU BID!This Listing is for my 1955 Chevrolet 2-door Handyman wagon. The previous owner converted it into a sedan delivery,it could be converted back into a wagon fairly easily if you`d like. I received the car on trade, but now realize that it needs more work then I used to doing on my own,and finding reliable help does not seem to want to happen. It needs a home with someone that is able to give it the work it needs,I just want a car I can turn the key in and go. The car has a 454 Big Block V8 and automatic transmission. The engine runs great, very powerful, trans shifts good. There is a Camaro subframe in front with disc brakes and power steering. My friend said that it has an Oldsmobile rear axle, but could be wrong. Here is a run down of the good and bad:The engine is a 454 BBC V8 with an automatic transmission,it runs good but the starter grinds. The ignition switch is not wired up,it has a starter button and toggle switch as-shown in the last picture. The last time I drove it the joint in the steering shaft fell apart and I have no idea how to fix it,so the car is not currently drivable and must be towed. Some of the wiring also needs redone. The body is mostly straight and looks pretty solid, there is a couple small spots in the paint bubbling up and a little rust on the rear tailgate as-shown. I hired a friend to do some work on the car,and it fell off of his lift and into his car, damaging the left front fender as-shown. The underside looks good to me. The paint shines well, but is showing it`s age all over. I received the car with everything painted body-color,I started adding some new chrome pieces. The door handles are shaved. The interior needs some work but is useable as it sits. There is no back seat, and has bucket seats up front. There is an aftermarket shifter and an AutoMeter tachometer. The gauge cluster doesn`t work, but a good replacement one is included...I just don`t know how to install it. The glass is cracked in the passenger side door. There are no door panels with the car either, that is how I got it. As stated above, the ignition is a starter button and toggle switch. It has a GM tilt column and aftermarket steering wheel. Please read the entire description above!!! I don`t want to deceive anyone!!! The car needs some TLC,but is a good start for someone more mechanically inclined. Please feel free to ask ANY questions before you bid!!! The car is located in Oak Lawn,IL. You are welcome and urged to come see it in person first if you are able to do so,I don`t want to hide anything. I just want to get enough back to buy something else. You could call me at 708-262-6630 Jason. I want the car payed for within 1-week of listing end. I strongly prefer CASH in-person as-payment,any type of payment must clear before the car will be released!!! On Jul-05-15 at 13:14:30 PDT, eller added the following information:
The car does not have poppers you have to open the door reaching through the small window!
