Our featured 1956 Chevrolet 3100 pickup has been extensivelyrestored and presents beautifully inthe original shade of Crystal blue paint (code 734) with a 6' stepside bed. Showing just over 10,000 miles; which is believed to be original according to the previous owner, t has been restored to a high standard and has seen only light use since completion. This was clearly a very nice truck to begin with, s evidence by the original paint on the firewall and the excellent body fit. This 3100 is fresh, xceptionally straight and ready for enjoyment. The oak bed floor has been beautifully refinished and the bed features matching custom wood rails with period-style Chevrolet signage. One of the best features of the 1956 Task Force 3100 is the gorgeous front end styling, he last year to feature the iconic egg-crate grille. Chrome plating quality on the grilles, umpers and trim is excellent.
Inside, he cab interior surfaces are finished in proper dove gray paint with a black dash panel. The seat has been reupholstered in the original pattern and color vinyl, hile correct utilitarian rubber mats line the floor. The original jack is mounted in the factory location behind the seat, nd this example is equipped with theoptional heater mounted under the dash. This is of course a truck meant for work, o luxury is not exactly a strong suit, ut it is however very correct, ompletely functional and a delight to drive.
When it comes to working, he tried and true Thriftmaster inline six runs strong and propels this truck down the road at what is best described as a "relaxed" pace. You won't win drag races, ut you will have a ton (or a half-ton!) of fun out on the road. The 3-speed manual gearbox is operated via a column shifter, nd rewards patience with a clean and smooth shifts. Brakes are very strong and handling is predictable on lovely whitewall bias-ply tires. Once up and running, he manual steering is easy to use. The refreshingly simple engine bay is exceptionally clean and very well detailed. It is clean and tidy with lots of room all around to work and nearly spotlessly clean. Function and reliability are the name of the game under the hood. The undercarriage is similarly clean, ith all surfaces correctly finished and extremely well detailed. Few trucks of this era survived the rigors of work as well as this example. Most have been worked into the ground, r extensively modified. This truck survives in remarkably correct condition.
