BODYWORK/TRIM

Fully sorted and ready to roll, his super cool pickup recently received a roof-to-rocker makeover that's set off by smooth PPG Cool Vanilla 2-stage and tasteful gold pin striping. Under that high quality pigment, n incredibly straight fuselage hangs solid panels that, ith the exception of a thorough massage during their restoration, ppear to have led a quiet, rama-free existence. Those massaged panels feature better-than-factory alignment and, hen opened and closed, ound solid and function exceptionally well. And that functional body's combination of excellent reflections and Kansas-flat surfaces suggest many labor-intensive hours were spent exacting top-notch finish work.

While its basic shape is certainly appealing, irst rate detailing is what makes this Chevy really pop. At the front of the truck, familiar chrome grille rides between a fresh chrome bumper, lean halogen headlights and a shaved hood. Behind that hood, split windshield leads a 3-window greenhouse that's framed in capped wipers, mall, olor-keyed mirrors and a flush Center High Mount Stop Lamp. Beneath those mirrors, ainted running boards combine with shaved doors to create a simple, ttractive profile. At the center of that profile, custom bed cover lifts to reveal a custom mural and spectacular Oak planks. And at the back of that cover, smooth tailgate reflects a custom roll pan, olished exhaust tips and flush-fit tail lamps.

ENGINE

Take a look under the truck's clean hood and you'll find 5.7 liters of LS1 V8 that makes over 300 horsepower! Straight from the factory, he proven mill combines a sturdy aluminum block with lightweight aluminum heads, oil-near-plug ignition and aluminum flat top pistons to create razor-sharp throttle response and a torque band that's as wide as Texas. At the front of the engine, olished serpentine components spin a polished alternator and modern AC compressor at the sides of a polished Street & Performance air cleaner. Once air enters that cleaner, t flows through a polished throttle body to a polished intake, hich is bolted down over completely stock internals. High-octane fossils are provided by GM electronic fuel injection. Sparks are sequenced through fresh Taylor plug wires. Spent gases roar through a slick pair of Hooker Super Competition headers. And cooling comes courtesy of a beefy Walker radiator that's fitted with a large SPAL pusher fan. Aesthetically, oth the tan mill and its assortment of bright accessories seem right at home inside their smooth, ody-matched frame. And details like polished caps, olished rocker covers, olished fluid reservoirs and color-keyed rail covers ensure this Chevy has the looks to match its performance.

DRIVETRAIN/TRANSMISSION

Judging by appearance, his classic spent most of its blue-collar life living clean and working hard. So, hen the time came for rebirth, he truck was a prime candidate for thorough modernization. Nowhere is that theme more evident than under the skin. The dressed LS1 sends power to a 4L60E 4-speed automatic, hich spins a color-keyed axle that's fitted with moderate, ighway-friendly gears. That smooth drivetrain pushes a Fatman Fabrications frame on a custom 4-link suspension, hich sports proven QA1 coil-overs. Tracking is provided by an upgraded front clip, hich is fitted with tubular control arms, ower rack-and-pinion steering and two more coil-over-shocks. Quick stops are a cinch thanks to power-assisted, -wheel disc brakes. At the center of the floor, oated exhaust pipes make good use of coated DynoMax mufflers. And at the corners of the chassis, olished Billet Specialties wheels twist 225/60R17 front, nd 235/60R18 rear, oodyear Assurance radials around custom center caps.

INTERIOR

When you pop this pickup's doors, ou'll find a comfortable cockpit that, hanks to Larry Sneed Hot Rod Interior of Louisville, entucky, eatures stylish Alligator trim. Top dead center, wrapped dash hangs a locking glovebox and Classic Instruments All American gauges above knobs for Vintage Air climate control. In front of that dash, odern leather seats frame a custom console that's fitted with two cupholders, hrome window switches and a hidden power outlet. Under that console, weed carpet anchors color-keyed floor mats beneath billet foot pedals and a polished column drop. At the sides of that carpet, culpted door panels hang highly polished handles under color-keyed window frames. Above those panels, custom suede headliner floats a remote-controlled Kenwood CD player between a small dome lamp and polished mirror. And in front of the driver, tilting column spins a polished, hevrolet-branded steering wheel around a polished gear selector.
