Car description

This very rare 1966 L79 2 door post M20 4 speed bench seat Chevy II was treated to an extensive body chassis engine and interior restoration with upgrades in areas where the original car design lacked (suspension and braking). Vehicle has been driven less than 100km since its completion in Oct 2014 and has not been shown at any car shows. This vehicle is 1 of 133 L79 Chevy II 100 2dr sedan post built for the Canadian market with documentation from Vintage Vehicle services (GM Canada affiliated) and signed off by one of GM documentation specialist George Zapora. Original document goes with winner bidder. Unlike most other GM Canada documentation this vehicle was not originally sold into the dealer network but was placed into G.M. of Canada product stock. Also have the names of the previous registered owners from the last 30 years. When you consider US built vehicles do not have this type of documentation and the limited number produced (1969 Yenko Camaro-198 units and 1970 Yenko Nova Duece-175 units; www.yenko.net/dealers/yenko.htm production numbers are greater than this Chevy II) this is a blue chip investment and highly desirable one year only Chevy II. Engine: Recently rebuilt 2 bolt main 350ci bored out 30thou with lumpy Crane cam Performer RPM intake Holley 750 carb 1960s camel hump heads correct Chevy II oil pan Z28 GM valve covers and functioning cowl induction air cleaner or reproduction L79 air cleaner is available your choice.

Transmission: Recently rebuilt M21 Muncie with the correct Chevy II “3849309” bellhousing new Ram clutch assembly and new Hurst Competition Plus shifter.

Chassis: Rear axle is a non original completely rebuilt (seals brakes and drums) GM 10 bolt with Auburn positraction with Richmond 3.73:1 gears. The original 12 bolt was removed from the car before I purchased the car. Front is a CPP mini front end aftermarket front suspension assembly with tubular upper and lower A-arms disc brake conversion and 1” sway bar. All modifications are bolt on and have not deviated from the factory appearance or factory assembly points should you wish to return to the problematic original front end design. Brakes have been converted to power assist disc front and drum rear with 1967 Chevy II brake lines to use a dual line rather than a dangerous single line that all 66 Chevy II were manufactured with. While it is not period correct 66 it is very similar to 67 and much safer and pleasure to drive.

Body has been completely restored with new floors trunk floor hood trunk lid Qtr panels complete rear inner wheel housing NOS front fenders and rear tail panel. Photos tell the story more than words. Trim and chrome is excellent condition as it is brand new with a few original GM pieces (headlight bezels rear Chevy II emblem). Electrical harness and complete wiring is brand new and sourced from American Auto wire exact original appearance. Interior has been restored with PUI interiors material professionally installed headliner and trim Hush mat under the factory appearance carpet new dash bezels dash pad dash knobs and factory radio (not working) 3 spoke reproduction GM wheel and Autogage gauges to monitor the engine.

Car is available to view in person and encourage in person inspection. I can arrange for pick up from local airport (Pearson Toronto or John C Monroe Hamilton airports).
