Car description

I believe sins of omission are still sins. So I will try and describe everything about this car as accurately and completely as I can. Please read I try not to waste keystrokes. The car had 102K miles on the odo when I bought it. I list it as 50 because that's about how many miles are on the rebuilt motor.Although I have been scammed on ebay (see below) I don't scam. I am a car guy and would rather lose some money than scam someone.First - I am selling the car because I am moving cross country and need to thin out.It is a project started about 2 years ago. I bought the car on the cheap with the assumption it had a blown head gasket and/or cracked heads. It turned out to be that plus a cracked block. But I don't quit. Instead of trying to rebuild the cracked block I sourced a correct rebuilt one with steel heads as was the case in 85 (86 went to aluminum heads). The buyer of this gets the original block included (you are responsible for pickup). The new motor was installed. Here is a list of what other new or rebuilt parts the car has:- Every possible gasket hose and other piece of cork rubber or hose that I found was replaced.- All fluids changed - all. Radiator fluid is using 100% Evans. That's the good (not cheap) stuff. Google that before you change or add to the cooling system!- New clutch kit installed. Old one looked ok but why not since I was in there.- All new brakes (rotors/pads) brake lines as needed- New shocks- Control arm and Stabilizer Bar bushings- Starter- Fuel Pump and filters- Radiator (4 core aluminum)- One fuel injector replaced- New MAF- New ECM- New Catalytic Converter (stock exhaust otherwise)I just changed the oil again after the breakin period Base 5000 Mobil 10w-30 no additives. I don'trecommendsynthetic for this vintage engine rebuilt or not.The engine runs well does not overheat - fan works as it should. It shifts well and the OD works. However I did have some chatter on my last test drive so the clutch should be looked at. Again - new kit including cylinders but may need some sorting I haven't driven it enough to know for sure. Now what it needs- There is no digital dash. Why you may ask? I sent it in to a seemingly reputable ebay rebuilder. He took my $350 and kept it. He did this to a dozen or more people over a month's time before ebay shut him down. No money back. No dash. Scammed. Yes I called him and he seemed legit with a good feedback rating (after that month it wasn't again over a dozen hits and shutdown).- The bezels for the dash and center console were broken up good they will need to be replaced - old ones were junked.- The seats are OK and with some vinyl repair should clean up nicely.- Carpets are perished. Talk to me if you are the buyer since I can source an exact match complete carpet set for you for very cheap.- Steering wheel is tatty.- Armrest underside broken (very common on these cars the frame is cheaply made).- Incorrect radio in it (later model GM) will need to be replaced to be made correct.- Original plastic shifter grip is cracked and the boot is laying down - that should be sorted when the center comes out for carpet replacement.Moving on to the rest of the car- Glass Targa top must have been dropped (not by me) and has 2 cracks in the back corners (in pics) needs to be replaced to look good.- Paint is actually pretty good but will need an expert buff/polish then some touch up and TLC to get nice.- I believe at least one of the tires has a bad belt and/or flat spot. I do not know for sure I haven't had them to a tire shop but it vibrates like it after 50 MPH.What else can I say?- The wheels are original and with a good professional polish should be nice.- Some of the black on the exterior needs to be touched up like door handles and A pillar.- Headlights go up and down like they should.- Air conditioning is not working - it was drained and I haven't made an effort to recharge or test. Expect there to be some leak or issue.- Parking brake not working haven't looked into why.If you are looking for a C4 Corvette that has been mostly sorted out mechanically but needs alot of interior cosmetic work (and a digital dash) and you have some skill and time this is the car for you.Other Notes:High bidder takes it. As-Is. Clear Texas Title. Don't forget you get the old (original) block with it. No you don't get the Red Corvette in the pics with this auction. Or the Hummer.
