Car description

1966 Corvair Monza

You are bidding on a 140 hp 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza power glide two-door coupe with factory air conditioning! Born in Willow Run but raised in California. 75k original miles and has spent most of its 50 years stored in this dry climate so its body and undercarriage are rust free. Just before the vehicle changed hands 8 years ago a quad carb 140 horsepower engine was installed. The new owner became disabled and it went back into storage shortly thereafter. This vehicle shows pride of ownership.

The engine bay is tidy clean and appears to be well maintained. The fuel lines are empty. It is assumed it was prepped for storage and therefore hasn’t been started to preserve that condition. It was represented that it ran when it was stored and can only assume it should take very little to fire it up. Brakes appear to have been serviced just before storage have lots of pressure and work very well. Tire tread looks virtually unused.

The interior is in wonderful condition and the chrome sparkles. The carpets look new and the seats are near perfect. Seatbelts front and rear. The headliner would be near flawless except for that above the driver seat (which is odd considering the condition of the interior see photo). Dashboard vinyl is in like-new condition with all black crackle paint present on its face. Glove box button in need of replacement but all controls are present and appear to be fully functional.

Exterior paint appears to be original but would need freshening prior to entering any show. The body is straight with only a few blemishes which are easily addressable in preparation for paint. No need to paint any jams.

This is a rare investment opportunity. Only 2% of Chevrolet’s Corvair line were installed with factory air conditioning and the cabin cooling blue tinted glass. These options are worth a bundle. In some instances these A/C and glass have been removed and sold for more than a whole car! If you’ve been looking for a late model Corvair this is a no-brainer. If you want to have an all original show car there isn’t much you need to do. If you want to add your own personality this is probably one of the best platforms out there for your dream creation.

Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime find! Good Luck! Happy Bidding!
