1968 Chevrolet C-20
CST Truck
One Owner
I recently purchased this truck at an estate sale & drove it 45 miles home not a care in the world it was all smiles. The old gentleman that had this for the entire life of this truck was at the sale & told me what I am explaining here. He purchased it at Bob Wood Chev-Olds Inc. in Eagle Grove Iowa on 3-7-68 & titled it 3-11-68. I have the original signed title by him the previous owner was the dealership. I also have the trucks original invoice with all the options & purchase price of $3115.07

The old man also said the brakes were weak so he had a local repair shop go through the brake system. On 4-24-09 he spent $903.26 on the brakes they did wheel cylinders shoes and a couple brake lines. He told me at theauction the brakes were still soft. Well I didn't have the heart to tell him that the truck has squish brakes not power assisted ones. In 2009 when this was done the truck had around 98200 miles on it it shows 98433 miles now. No doubt in my mind this is the original mileage. The only thing that I can see that isn't original on the truck is the wheels. They changed out the split rims & swapped them out for some classic wagon wheel spokes. I do have the hubcaps & a spare for it.
This truck is one of the best examples of an original unmolested pickup trucks I have ever seen. It has a perfect dash pad never seen one this nice. All the lights work including dash & interior light. The am push button radiostill works as it should. White door panels & white with gold inlay seat. When was the last time you saw the original cigarette lighter it matches the rest of knobs inside the truck. I have 2 sets of keys.Emergency brake under the steering wheel. I thought a lot if I should do a full detail or leave it untouched I opted for the latter just to leave it alone. I let is sit for couple weeks pumped the gas 3 times it started right up choke works just as it is supposed to let run for a few minuets tap the gas choke shuts off & ready to roll. It does smoke a little blue smoke at start up but goes away possibly valve seats but hey its an old 327 most of em do it. This truck is made to haul & go but not pass many gas stations. Has the factory ram hors exhaust & even a 4 barrel carb.
From what I have researched the Gold - White 2 tone paint & same colors on seat is an anniversary color scheme. I listed it in the C-10 category because there is not one forC-20.
Truck is located in Bode Iowa. Original owner was from Eagle Grove IA.
Thanks for looking & any questions please ask..
There was a similar truck that sold on here recently. It was a C-10 short box with 45000 miles it brought just over $28000. I don't see why I cant start mine at 10k.
