Some of the most loyal buyers in the world are passionate Chevy truck enthusiasts. They use their favorite models for work horses show queens and everything in between. Nothing speaks more direct to the hard working American guy than his truck and his toys and in the case of this truck… it’s the best of both worlds in one package. Despite fluctuating fuel prices this dedicated group continues to be one of GM’s largest fan bases. At one point in time GM sold so many Chevy’s that they considered the Chevrolet Truck brand a completely separate entity from the Chevrolet cars. And it’s no surprise today that the market for classic trucks is absolutely exploding! This magazine-featured 1957 Chevrolet Half Ton Pickup is a unique combination of time outrageous talent and exceptional attention to detail. With unbelievable color-changing paint a modern small block V8 and a stylish custom interior it’s the kind of top notch truck that’s guaranteed to make heads turn when you rumble into town for your next cruise-night! OK If you’re like most people who hastily grab the first greeting card for someone’s birth day or anniversary I’ll save you some time with some key highlights of what’s under the hood: • 383 Stroked Aluminum headed small block pushing 500 HP• Scott Drake custom Aluminum Air Cleaner• Chevrolet Billet aluminum valve covers• Holley 4-barrel carb• RPM Edelbrock aluminum intake• Big aluminum radiator• Dual Billet Aluminum overflow tanks• March pulley billet belt drive system• Chrome high-output alternator• MSD Ignition and wires• Billet Power steering Pump• GM subframe with Aluminum power steering rack.• Easy-access oil filter located on left front frame rail. No let’s talk about this beautiful body and crazy color on this truck. Starting with one of the best-looking trucks ever produced Chevrolet’s popular Task Force Series this super cool pickup was given a roof to rocker makeover which transformed it from a sun faded old truck in California to a magazine worthy award-winner. Its restoration was obviously executed by some dedicated craftsmen who knew what they were after when they built this one; and not surprisingly its completion is the result of two years of hard work and a lot of money. As you can probably tell the truck’s basecoat is a bright and crisp gold which builds an excellent foundation for layers of pearl and custom paint. It’s green top coat is PPG’s Vibrance Harlequin Gold Green which is so liquid smooth I’m not even sure our photos can do it justice. This paint is so dynamic it’s presentation varies with the light and angle that you’re looking at it. Its stylish divider stripe is custom hand painted on as well as a touch of hand painted striping to match on the dash and tailgate. There must be literally hundreds of hours of work wrapped up in this custom’s body and when you see the truck in person you’ll be amazed by the amount of depth and precision displayed throughout its finish! Naturally this awesome Chevy displays a lengthy combination of world-class custom touches and first-rate detail work that highlights both its solid body and stunning paint. At the front of the truck a one year only ‘wide mouth’ grille hangs between modern Hagan headlights that are equipped with fully-integrated clear parking lights. Below that grille a custom tucked-in bumper replaces a traditional wrap-around chrome bumper and above that grille a Bel-Air inspired hood wears prominent stamped spears. At the top of the truck a like-new curved windshield is along with like-new side and back glass lightly tinted and trimmed in fresh weather stripping. Behind the rear window bed spectacularly finished Oak wood bed planks are held down by spotless stainless skid strips. And below the windshield ‘flow through’ bodylines combine with shaved door handles emblems and custom rear fenders which have been widened by two inches to create a clean uninterrupted profile. At the back of the truck the tailgate has been removed and smoothed over with custom fit billet flush mount tail lights and a custom made flush rear roll pan to finish off the rear of the hot tricked-out truck. Crawling underneath this half ton reveals a solid frame that’s sealed in a layer of black paint and based on looks alone appears to have lead an accident-free life. The dressed small block’s power flows from a rebuilt Turbo 400 automatic to a shortened custom driveshaft which turns a sturdy ford reinforced 9” differential with 3.73 gears. That mirror-like painted rear end pushes the truck on an Alston polished four-link rear suspension that’s complete with high quality coil-over shocks. Tracking is provided by a durable A-arm front suspension which features tubular control arms and front air bags – so setting this beauty down at the shows for proper stance will not be a problem. Aluminum power rack and pinion steering helps take the ½ ton through the turns with ease. And quick stops are a cinch thanks to power four-wheel Wilwood disc-brakes which utilize stainless lines and braided hoses to clamp Wilwood 6-piston calipers around large drilled and vented rotors. At the center of the clean floors a clean 2.75 inch true dual exhaust system breathes through throaty Magnaflow mufflers and striking tips. At the edges of the clean floors 18 inch Billet Specialties wheels mounted on Nitto 225/45 ZR 18 fronts and Nitto 305/45 R18 rears. And everything from the truck’s frame-bound air and fuel lines to its floor mounted battery and master cylinder is well-planned exceptionally executed and ready to let Air Ride Technologies’ air suspension work its magic! But the show doesn’t stop there. Not by a long shot! That painted engine bay I mentioned earlier with the custom firewall was just the start because when you open this truck’s doors you’ll find a beautifully sculpted two tone cockpit that’s fit for a car show king. Top dead center – an expertly stitched custom wrapped upper dash pad with a satin lower finished dash panel. At far left of the dash hangs a set of Auto Meter gauges and between the seats in the console you’ll find an air pressure gauge and a set of switches to raise and lower the front of the truck and at the rear of the console is located the remote controlled Alpine CD/DVD player. In front of that dash a firm set of custom wrapped bucket seats wearing attractive two tone upholstery which is mimicked by both the truck’s headliner door panels and kick panels. At the sides of that dash badass custom leather door panels feature slick billet door handles. Under that dash fade-free carpeting and floor panels prop billet Lokar fuel and brake foot pedals next to a center console that’s complete with buttons for the truck’s power windows and a stylish Lokar floor shifter and leather boot. In front of the driver a polished Ididit chrome tilt steering column spins a 14 inch Billet Specialties steering wheel around a full set of billet accessory stalks. Someone invested a ton of time and money creating this head-turning half-ton pickup… and for our asking price you’d be lucky to replicate its paint and body work alone! Don’t miss this opportunity to own a super cool custom Chevrolet pickup truck that you can drive comfortably and show with American pride.Exterior Photos
