If you believe the stories all Corvettes are red and if you need flash in your two-seat fiberglass fantastic this beautiful 1960 Corvette certainly delivers. The car that you'll look forward to driving if only to hear the cackling 283 at full song it reminds us that all Corvettes are built for the road I don't care what the show guys say.OK so the paint isn't trailer-queen quality but what's the point of a Corvette that sits on a show field being wiped with a diaper? This sucker was born to RUN! The two-tone Ermine White and Roman Red paint job looks fantastic perfect for a high-visibility car like this and just what you think of when you imagine a solid axle 'Vette. The work was done a few years ago and the car has been enjoyed which is exactly how Corvettes were built to be used and the workmanship at the time was quite nicely done so it's holding up well. Door fit is good the hood sits flush and the fiberglass is in overall very good condition so that you'll be proud to pull up in front of your favorite hangout and casually walk away letting the crowd swoon over this beautiful roadster. Details like the flush-fitting taillights and emblems are very nice and the chrome was all refinished with the rest of the car and still shows well. As far as drivable C1s go this is an excellent candidate.I think my favorite aspect of this 'Vette is the glorious red interior. The match with the red paint is perfectly in tune with the period giving this roadster a fun-loving look that's a far cry from the seriousness that usually surrounds vintage fiberglass. Like your favorite jeans there's plenty of character inside but it's definitely not worn out. The original gauges are framed by that color-matched 3-spoke steering wheel the dash-mounted rear-view mirror should always have a sunset in it and the white cue ball for the shifter begs to be caressed. It's worth noting that this car also has ultra-rare factory power windows and a Wonderbar AM radio in the center of the dash. The sole modification is an aftermarket temperature gauge under the dash but that's easy to overlook in the grand scheme of things. Overhead there's a white convertible top for emergencies as well as a color-matched hardtop and they're both in great shape. The trunk is also outfitted correctly with a reproduction mat and plenty of room for a road trip. The barking 283 cubic inch V8 is a correct F92IDG 1960 230 horsepower unit for installation with a PowerGlide 2-speed automatic so we strongly suspect it is this car's original powerplant. It's been painted Roman Red to match the bodywork which is a subtle but effective way to get some attention but otherwise it seems pretty stock. A chrome air cleaner makes it look showy but it pretty much sticks to the factory recipe for the rest of the details. The glasspack-equipped dual exhaust sounds right the PowerGlide moves through the gears crisply and while not super-detailed the undercarriage is ideal for a driver-grade Corvette and shows no signs of trouble. Flashy 6.70-15 BFGoodrich Silvertown wide whites with stock wheel covers gives it that vintage look that seems right on only the solid-axle cars.A beautiful car that's appealing for a variety of reasons. If driving is your thing this Corvette has the right equipment and just the right level of shine to be a no-brainer when it comes time to hit the road. Call today!
