Car description

Hello this truck is a true barn find & it has the solid body floor pans & frame to prove it! Someone apparently painted it a black metallic sometime during it's life & it shows just how straight the car is! I found it with a friend when purchasing another car from an older gentleman. He told me the car was sitting in his dry garage for over 15 years & it came from California & was evidently also stored for a number of years there as well. From what I can see the car has not been on the road since the mid 80's. It currently has a 327 with a turbo 350 trans. It was originally a V-8 power glide column shift bench seat car. It does have a 3/8 fuel line through the frame & 12 bolt rear which made me think it could have been a big block car? The car's original color is mountain green (HH code). I do not not know a whole lot about El Camino's but did my best to find out what I could prior to listing the car so please bear with me. The engine is NOT original to the car but it is a 1967 327 with camel hump heads (HC suffix code) casting # 3903352 date A-11-7 intake # 3906893 date A-12-7 heads 3890462. The trans obviously is not original either. I'm not sure about the rear but I did confirm that it is a 12 bolt rear regular axle (non-posi) 300 ratio (39 teeth on ring gear & 13 teeth on the pinion) The condition of the engine & the trans are unknown but turn over fine. I recommend rebuilding them & did not try starting the engine. The car is a factory air car though some of the components are missing (lines are cut inside pass inner fender) though I do have some brackets old condenser two compressors & the factory air box is under the hood. The car is equipped with power steering manual drum brakes (disc conversion available) also have most parts for a 4sp conversion available separately. As far as the car goes I would describe it as 98% rust free. I found a couple very superficial areas that I feel I should mention so there are no surprises. The right rear lower quarter has several bubbles but not bad & I found one spot on the one lower front fender someone may have patched or filled about 1 1/2 inches long. I ran a week magnet all over the car prior to buying it & was very surprised how solid the car was. This would make an easy restoration for even a inexperienced body man. The frame bed floors doors tail gate back window frame & rockers are all solid! The sliding rear widow is junk & I have a solid piece of glass that goes with car. The drive shaft is currently out of the car but I have it with the hardware. I have a number of parts that go with the car. Clear title in hand. This car is NOT a turn key car & I have not tried to start it there is great potential for someone that does not want to spend a ton of money replacing body panels & searching for parts. I have researched prices & placed a very fair reserve price on the car & have cross posted the ad in other venues. Please contact me prior to bidding if your feedback score is less than 5 or if you need additional info. Buyer is responsible for shipping shipping costs & arrangements. $500 deposit required within 24 hours of auction close.I will be listing a few other NOS GM items in the next few days please check out my other auctions.ThanksTom
