Car description |
---|
This is a beautiful attention-getting blue/blue 1984 Monte Carlo SS. It looks great runs great and is reasonably priced. You would be hard-pressed to find as nice and trouble free fourth generation Monte Carlo SS as this one for the price I am asking. Exterior
- Repainted about 11 years ago No dings dents or scratches
- Great shine
- Wheels & tires are excellent
- Looks almost like new
- Headliner and sun visors recently replaced
- Speedometer recently replaced
- Everything else is original
- Includes the floor mats shown in the pictures plus a nice set of blue vinyl mats for everyday usage
- Original 305 engine Turbo 350 transmission and rear end
- Carburetor is new
- Almost entire a/c is new and works beautifully
- Front half of exhaust is original; from mufflers back was just replaced
- Center console hinge is broken; it looks fine when it is closed and latched but requires two hands to finagle it closed once open. Not a major thing but I want you to know.
- The glove compartment opens and closes fine but it flops down when you open it. There must be a retaining strap or something that is missing.
- Speedometer froze up and was replaced with one that reads zero to 115 mph. The original read zero to 85. It works but doesn’t seem to be perfectly accurate though the odometer is. The odometer reads 53142 which is slightly higher than the original speedometer was at the time I replaced it (by a couple thousand miles) but the car is being sold mileage exempt anyway. The true mileage is probably in the area of 51000 anyway.
- The cruise control works but sometimes surges a bit. It holds a steady speed but you can feel a bit of a surge now and then.
- There is a small crack (less than ½ inch) in the paint in the driver’s side rear quarter panel. It is hard to see and I couldn’t pick it up in the pictures but it is there. It is the only flaw I can find anywhere in the paint and you have to know where it is to see it.
- That’s it.
- The car rides and drives beautifully. I would drive it anywhere. In the past year it has taken us from North Carolina to Florida and back then to Minnesota and back all without incident. It’s a very smooth riding comfortable car.
- The car looks every bit as good in person as in the pictures. No surprises.
- Everything else works – lights gauges turn signals horn am/fm stereo seatbelts door locks.
- Clear title in my name.
- I am selling it because I am doing a lot of restoration work on my 1970 and 1972 Monte Carlos and I need the garage space and money.
