Description
Up for sale is a gorgeous 1965 Chevy Corvair 4 Door Series. This car is a head turner - as you can plainly see by the pics. I've owned this car for just over 4 years - but sadly have to give it up. 5 children and a wife influence my decision.
This car deserves a good home. Someone who will take care of her and tend to the finishing touches. I replaced the seats with 2 from a 1966 Chevelle. The motor runs and drives and is as loud as any muscle car from the 60's/70's era.
The odometer reads 53000 miles.
The Good:
- A beautiful body and color.
- 4 - 14" Cragars with brand new tires.
- 2 Rebuilt Carburetors -
- Dual exhaust system
- Extra clean 'pancake 6'
- Rebuilt alternator
- Brakes are smooth.
- Steering wheel mimics power steering due to the rear engine (ONLY AMERICAN CAR WITH REAR ENGINE!)
- Very clean trunk.
- Rear seats are stock and also clean
- Minor rust on body. One small spot near tail light
- Dashboard is clean
- New Bosch spark plugs and wires
The Bad:
- Smooth Power Glide Transmission while driving but slight pause upon initial acceleration from a full stop
- Interior carpets need to be secured or replaced
- Interior trim all present and accounted for; but needs replacing as it is dry and cracking in certain spots
- Floor boards need reinforcement
- The map light cover is broken but light itself works fine
- Needs a good tune-up
***She definitely needs some work but as you can see - she just needs someone who knows what they're doing to be the pride of the barn. Considering I don't take her out that often - My experience with this car has been pretty good so far. I start her up every couple of days and take her around the block just to the keep the juices flowing. Sometimes she needs a quick jump which makes me think there's a small short somewhere. Could be just that I don't take her out every day. I'm working on that as I write. The winner of this bid will not be disappointed.
