up for sale today is a very nice1987 k5 blazer silerado 4x4. over the past few months its had quite a transformation from just an old truck to the stunning example shown here. begining with a new engine we i built for an s10 truck my dad used to drive. till some idiot rear ended it after only 20k miles. it is just a stock 350 nothing high performance so it was just right for this blazer. as you can see in the pics the only thing not stock are the valve covers. and i painted the engine red to match the truck. we kept the stock tbi fuel system. full exhaust. after the engine was sorted out the body came next. since this truck spent its life in the texas panhandle there was no rust to deal with. just the usual dents and dings. this was no quick re spray. in the pics youll see the door and tailgate jams were redone so there are no tape lines or old paint showing anywhere. it was coated with 2 coats of primer. 2 coats sealer. 3 color coats and 3 clear coats. it almost looks deep enough to swim in. also the hood was replaced with a newer one to get rid of the hood ornament. the body side moldings were removed. along with the fender emblems. gives it a much cleaner look. the grille was resprayed in low gloss black. the topper was done with a single stage urethane to keep more of the factory appearance. the interior didnt need much. i installed a dash cap and re colored some of the plastic parts. all windows and door locks are in working order. passenger side is a bit slow but working. the truck has all of the usual silverado comforts. power windows. ocks. tilt. cruise(not working). a/c havent charged it yet but its there and hooked up. new tires less than a month ago. new fuel pump and float assembly. new weather stripping in the doors. new rear bumper. has a reciver hitch also. youd be very hard pressed to find a nicer k5 anywhere as most of them have been lifted and turned into mud trucks. this one may not be perfect. but its not far from it either. if you have any questions call me at 8062239963. thanks and good luck
